I'm not sure if you shopped the store on Fort Evans or in downtown Leesburg, but the Fort Evan store also had OWA on the shelf.....at least they did a week or so ago.

I did look for the OWA, they have had it in stock the last few times I have been in the Fort Evan store. I was greeted with an out of stock sign today.

I am a huge fan of heaven hill with all their offerings so I usually stick with them, but OWA and Lot B are on my short list of new ones to try from reccomendations of this board.

Thanks to the local casino I've developed a craving for Parker's Heritage 127.4, and was lucky enough to find two bottles I remembered sitting on a shelf a year ago still without a home. I got one (a friend got the other), and a FR1B to keep me from getting into the Parker's immediately.

Said casino, in Shelbyville (IN), has a Makers Mark Bourbon Bar with mostly usual suspects on offer, but the Parkers at $9/2oz was a great deal and we were lucky that nobody else realized as much, because we went through all three of their bottles and didn't notice any missing between trips. They let us taste Makers white dog @90 proof and an 8yr old last time I went, so I kind of recommend the place if you're local- even though their blackjack tables are electronic.

Thanks Josh. I thought of you when I bought it because I remembered recommending the store that had them and mentioning that bottle in particular when you asked for store recommendations in Indy. Thanks for not getting them!

Great way to put it!

Saturday I came into the posession of a bottle of Four Roses '09 Barrel Proof and a bottle of White Label Heaven Hill BiB (6 y/o). Very different whiskeys but both great in their own ways.

Found a bottle of VW Lot B at a small store in Yorkville for $40...they only had one so now they're sold out! :D

Walked into an obscure, small time specialty liquor store in a hole in the wall location here in Honolulu...and was stoked to find they had besides all the typical, mass marketed KSBW's, they had some EC12 and EC 18!

The 12 was $28.00, the 18 was $66.00. OH how I wish I could have spared the $66.00....

...but I'm still happy to finally get the chance to try some EC12!

Oh, and this place also had some Old Fitz BIB, Overholt Rye, Rebel Yell Reserve and WTKS....stuff I've never seen anywhere else here in HI.

Soon, I willl add those to the bunker...

Nice! Can they special order most everything or is HI a control state?

I would definitely pick up the Old Fitzgerald BIB. Much better "wheater" than the Rebel Reserve in my book. Also much more affordable. I was lucky enough to score that 1 liter OF-BIB I bought last Friday for $14.99. Most of the Heaven Hill BIBs are a damn good bargain. JTS Brown and Rittenhouse Rye are also among my favorites in that lineup.

Thanks for the recommend, emu! The OFBiB was 24.99 here...but than I know everything in that store was over-priced. But, they do have KSBW and SMS that I can't find anywhere else in the State, so I guess it is worth the price.

They had JBB for 29.99!!!!!

Just down the street at the nearest grocery store, I can get that for $19 - $22

But they do have EC...something I've never seen anywhere else in the State, so I can't complain.

I don't believe HI is a control state...just a matter of demand. Bourbon is not a big market here....I do believe Tequila and Rum are far more popular here. It sucks, because we don't get a lot of variety on the store shelves...but in the bars, it's usually not bad, because the bourbon's are typically way less pricey and usually on special more often.

BTW- what does Bonded in Barrell mean?

Yesterday I rescued a ER90, KC & Old Fitz BiB from the store.

(nothing fancy but all tasty... well Old Fitz bib might be the most underrated pour ever.)

Picked up a bottle of EWSB 1997 still in the box...I didn't know that they ever came in a box...I also picked up a bottle of Binny's ERSB 10/90. Still looking for the RARE ER 10/101...:(

I've noticed that most liquor stores around here discard of the boxes or employees take them for personal use. I would suspect it's mostly the latter which kind of 'rubs me the wrong way'. Today I paid $32 for a bottle of Wild Turkey Rare Breed. I would assume that somewhere in that $32 is the cost of the fancy cardboard tube which I didn't receive in that transaction.

OGD114 - $23 even after tax... and I am very very happy about it.

Thanks to all you fine folks for the fine recommendations.

I would have skipped any OGD product based on past experience with the 86 proof.

This is tasty.

Cheers.

For the Heck of it I got a 750 ml of Beams Red Stag and found I like it which is really strange for me as I never drink Beam but there is something nice about sipping it on Ice.
