Bulleit. It shows the typically spicy (red-striped cinnamon candies) character of the fine products of Four Roses distillery, where I understand it is distilled for the owner of the brand. This particular bottle is slightly drier than some I recall from before and well-balanced. It drinks neat or with a cube very well.

In celebration of my new job I splurged for the BTAC Weller and Stagg. I will probably whip out the Weller for Thanksgiving and the Stagg on Christmas.

It's been awhile since I've been around here, but last weekend I managed to pick up two bottles of OGD 114 at the NH Liquor Stores for $17 each. Great deal.

Also spied a Sazerac 18, George T. Stagg, and W.L. Weller Special....needless to say if I hadn't just made a college payment I would have been all over all three. I'm still thinking Christmas.

Got some bottles of Weller 12yr from Binnys. It has literally been years since I've seen any around here. I hope it's as good as I remember it.

Yeah, I grabbed myself one of those OGD 114s last week in Portsmouth, too ... $17.99 is hard to beat.

If you're serious about the BTAC bottles, though, you won't want to wait until Christmas, they're moving at a pretty good clip. Of course I know somewhere you might be able to sample some. ;)

I don't think you'll be disappointed Chris. Binny's Weller 12 is some fantastic juice. I picked up three a couple weeks ago, and might be headed back in to get a few more. Gonna try and squeeze as many of those in the bunker as I can. Hope you enjoy it. Be sure to post and let us know how you like it. Joe

I think I might actually have some free time during Thanksgiving break, I don't think I'll be working the whole week. If I can find the time to do some sampling that would be great. Could be just what I need to pull the trigger.

BTAC WLW 2008 When your lucky, your lucky.

I went to a store that I was in just 2 weeks ago. Whats new on their shelf? At still at the old price!

It was not there two week ago. Not the first time I frequented a store that suddenly had old or older stock.

I got 2 new style OWA's.

I got no problem with this new OWA. For $23 its a great deal.

I'll have to wait a few days and go back to the bottle after it's had some time to air.

The initial nose had that sort of band aid char that you get with scotch sometimes. But a bit of air and it's gone. Nice and smooth with a color nearly identical to Centennial. Reddish juice. Very smooth, but I'm not getting that heavy char mixed with bitterness that I got in 2 of the 4 OWA bottles I bought before.

It's got that nice backend burny heat that just lets you know it's there and finishes slightly dry.

I just picked up a new style OWA 7 107. I was wondering why it looked different. I wasn't aware of the bottle change. I've yet to open it, but I have some of the old stuff hanging around waiting for a comparison. When the time comes, I will post it.

It looks different, and it isn't "technically" OWA 7 107 anymore, the age statement is gone.

...although, currently most seem to think it's as good as, or better than, the last 7 107 bottling.

Yeah, we'll get Dr Entropy involved, too -- he has gobs of open BTAC, too (& other goodies). My wife does prenatal yoga on Tuesdays, so that's a good day for dramming. Let me know when you're around via PM.

Bought a GTS in KC today! It's sure been slow getting here but I finally have one and I can't wait to try it. I doubt the seal will survive this evening.

I left behind a Handy and a ER17.

Should have a half-case of Bourbon Crusade OWA heading my way tomorow. I swear, I don't have a bourbon (buying) problem. I can stop any time I want.

Two packages were waiting for me when I got home from work today. A Vintage 23 Rye and a 86 proof Cabin Still decanter from '73.

I can quite buying any time I want too.:slappin:

Stepped out today and corrected a lapse in my collection. I picked up a bottle of OGD 114 and a bottle of 1792.

While I was at it, I picked up a bottle of Pennsylvania Dutch eggnog - sorry Bettye Jo, I asked specifically for Evan Williams, but they don't carry it here. Phooey.

I ended up ordering again from Julio's as their supply of the private bottlings that I was looking for was getting really low.

I had Ryan ship me:

1 Four Roses Unfiltered Barrel Strength

2 Julio's OWA SB

1 Julio's Elmer T. Lee

In the last 24 hours I have spent my bourbon budget for a couple months. Last night I nabbed a GTS and fell in love with it. Today Ryan called to finalize the 6 bottles of OWA from the single barrel selection. Tonight I picked up 3 more GTS, and one WLW. I passed up another WLW, a 4R marriage, several Handy, several ER17, Saz 18, RHF, and others.

Why does every distiller release their special bourbon at the same time? If I ran 4Roses, mine would be in June so people who had dropped their coin in October had rebuilt the bourbon fund.

June Mariage's are very popular, I hear.

Finally got another bottle. Russel's Reserve for $25. Not the best price where I work, but I was thirsty after a long day and needed a new bourbon. I definitely liked my first pour.
