ILLfarmboy
FRSB. I'm drinking out of the glencairn glass I got today with a bottle of Glenfiddich 12. I know a lot of you guys think very highly of this glass but I'm finding it dificult to drink from. My nose hits the opposite side of the rim as I take a sip. And my nose isn't very big. Joshua
An assortment of tiny tiny pours, I was in one of those "taste everything!" moods. Weller Centennial with some of the other folks on here in chat, followed by a bit of Four Roses Small Batch. Had a splash of Rittenhouse 100 proof Bottled in Bond to still realize I don't like the stuff at all. A little George T Stagg from 2008 found its way into my glass, as did a bit of Very Old Barton Bottled in Bond. I USED WORDS! NOT ABBREVIATIONS! (maybe no one will know what I'm talking about now...) funknik
Last night I had one pour each of Sazerac Jr., OldGrandDad 114 & Ancient Age BIB . . . all were worthy.
ggilbertva
Not drinking much these days. Over the weekend I did have a '79 Early Times and a small sip from my re-barrel project. Tonight though, I plan on indulging as well as tomorrow.
T Comp
Started with side by side pours of WT 101 and WTRB(old label-93). Followed by OC 10 and a tiny taste of Centennial/Frankfort. The hit of the night though was the recommended 50/50 vatting of Weller 12 and WTRB, by ACDetroit. Wow and OMG  . Bourbon on steroids. The combo really heightens everything positive about both.... the rye, the spices, the caramel, the honey, leather and fruits all in harmony. Definitely plan to revisit this. JamesW
Had a splash of Rittenhouse 100 proof Bottled in Bond to still realize I don't like the stuff at all.I really like the Ritt BIB. But you have to be careful of the order in which you drink it. You can't have Ritt after having Centennial, that's generally not going to fly. I like to have the "value" pours first to acclimate your palate so that the Centennials and Staggs become mind-blowing. Just my .02Check the thread on this, it may improve the experience for you :grin:http://www.straightbourbon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13174In fact, last night it was RItt BIB to start and then Saz 18 2009. That puppy was underwhelming after the Ritt. It's tough to go down in proof like that. The saz is very good and it reminds me of a "thinner" VWFRR. A better one-two punch would have been Ritt BIB and then Handy.

My bottles were not very good, but I've had Ritt BIB before that was great. I think there was a batch out there that was kinda weird -- mine tasted like a pine tree -- you maybe got one of the same bottles, Joshua.I really like the Ritt BIB. It also gives you a better experience when nosing the whiskey. Most of your sense of taste actually comes from your sense of smell.

Joshua
Andy- I think we probably did.... perhaps that is the case. And yea, we have had that talk Paul. I keep trying to think "oh it can't be that bad!" but... it is. No bourbon for me tonight I don't think, going to prepare for the big day tomorrow. Bringing the bottle of Pappy 15 I have to Thanksgiving.

The WT kicked the RHF ass all over the place -- all of my fears about the light top WTKS being not up to snuff have been eradicated -- I think this stuff is great, although I know many would disagree -- maybe I just don't know any better.
