IronHead
Nothing tonight, but last night was fun. I went out to a company dinner with a bunch of other chefs. First pour was Wathen's, next came ETL and the after dinner pour was Pappy 23. One of the higher ups decided to buy a round for the table and I don't think he checked the price before he ordered the 23. A year ago I wouldn't have batted an eye but last night I had to fight back a little cringe as everyone but me ordered theirs on the rocks but they were drinking it that way not me so I guess I shouldn't judge... Oh, and I wanted to smack the Royal Crown drinker who took a total of maybe 3 sips.

I figured since you have a kazillion bottles in the bunker, a few small samples could leisurely make their way to AZ. I didn't know you were lacking for dusty juice. :drinking:

nor02lei
Dickel 12 and JDSS before dinner and OGD114 after. Hm…the Dickel from my last bottle don’t seem to be at the same standard as the previous ones, nether today or at the previous times I have had it. The JD was very much better as it seemed. I hope this is due to a bad bottling or so.leif

nor02lei
I did pop up and had a pour of Fitzgerald 1849 bottled 1973 before dinner today. Nothing special at all, but I hope some oxidation will bring it up a bit. After dinner I had Stagg 2009 and right now OGD 114. I really do like all the 3 uncut antics from 2009 very, very well indeed.Leif

snifred
We've already got 6" on the ground here in the DC area, and I already shoveled once, so I opened the bottle of ORVW I picked up last week. Tasted it in the glencairn I also just got. Wow, now I understand the reviews here of VW products. It's fantastic.
