We've already got 6" on the ground here in the DC area, and I already shoveled once, so I opened the bottle of ORVW I picked up last week. Tasted it in the glencairn I also just got. Wow, now I understand the reviews here of VW products. It's fantastic.

I'm down on Delmarva and we've got a good foot or so. My brother in Elicott City says they've got over 20".

Which of the ORVWs did you pick up? I'm currently sipping some ORVW 10/107 that showed up on my porch yesterday afternoon courtesy of a Mr. UPS man who braved blizzard like conditions to get it to me. Thank You Sir!

Power was out from 3am until 11am this morning, so I'm finally enjoying some heat as well.

Overholt 1981 and WTR before dinner today. The modern bottle was defiantly better to my test. After dinner I did have vintage 21 rye, OGD 114 and EC 12. The KDB bottle was outstanding and I believe/guess that if it had been bottled uncut/unfiltered it would be in the same class as Doug’s first edition of Willet 22 rye.

Heading out to a dinner date with my bride...these are few and far between with 3 kids 2 and under. Before we headed out I had a pour of ER17 2008 while playing Golden Tee with my daughter in the basement. If forgot how good this pour is as I haven't had it in 3 or 4 months.

Had some good BBQ for dinner and now enjoying some Kentucky Vintage as I wait to head out to the Ferndale, MI Blues Fest tonight.

Kentucky Vintage is, I think, one of the great unsung bargains in the bourbon world. It has a pleasant corny nose and taste with a bit of burn and char in the finish.

Snowed in at my parents house. Slowly nursing a bottle of ORVW 10/107 with my father. It's too bad I didn't bring a few bottles. It looks like we might be here a while.

This is exactly why I store bourbon at folks houses all over the country. Neven know when you are going to get snowed in :D

Tonight has been:

Early Times 80

WTRR101

Canadian Club 86.8 proof, 1976

and one more I have not picked yet...

Unfortunately, it wouldn't last long at any of my folks houses. I guess I could stick a few bottles under the sink when nobody was looking.

Had some Woodford Reserve at a friends house last night and enjoyed it more so than usual. There are still a lot of bourbons out there that I have yet to try, so I try to stay away from the bourbons that are easily accessible (MM, KC, Bookers, Baker's, OGD, WT, WR) and not going anywhere so I can direct my funds elsewhere. Not a problem with this one and glad he had it.

Had OF Repeal during the game, and now that I'm home I've switched to Baker's. I feel bad for our new moderator and his Colts. Sorry Joe.

Had a couple of pours of Weller Centennial watching my Colts lose to a good Saints team yesterday. Now I'm having some Weller 12 in the calm before the (snow) storm. :banghead: Here we go again. Joe

Went to a neighbors' house for the Super Bowl. Took along a bottle of WTKS that I got from the neighbor for my birthday. Finished off most of it with some good ribs.

Finally got around to opening a EWSB2000.

The color is pretty dark. I was surprised at how dark it was for a lighter, 86 proof whiskey.

Smells much sweeter and woodsier than I remember previous bottlings to be. In a good way.

It tastes almost exactly as it smells, with addition to some good sweet corn. DelMarVa sweet corn at that.

The finish is long and sweet. I can still taste some good sweet corn after a sip minutes ago.

I will be returning to the store and picking up more of these. I haven't seen too many around, but I would imagine most stores are just receiving theirs as it was bottled only a few months ago.

I have a 1999 in the bunker, and another 2000. I'll do a side by side at some point. It will be in the very near future if I can find another 1999 laying around.

One of the few bourbons under 100 proof that I really like. It's also relatively inexpensive. If you can find one on the shelf, definitely pick it up.

Having a pour of JRPS batch 2. This bottle keeps getting better and better but the finish is a touch short.

Goodness, crappy weather from Cali to DC, and everywhere in between. It's barrel proof time! Ledger's BS OBSK Barrel #4. There, I did my part...
