ILLfarmboy
Well...at that point (if it ever gets to that point), she would not only be on my case about what I bought while out and about with her, but over any purchase that found its way into the house! At least now, I do a good share of by-myself shopping, both bricks and mortar and online, of which she remains blissfully unaware. :cool:You're off to a bad start.......Please don't tell me you've backed down on the toilet seat thing too...................................................The other night I was drinking RR Rye. It dawned on me that the nose was very and I mean very muted. Anyone else notice this?
tommyboy38
Enjoyed some Old Fitz BIB last night along with some 80's vintage HH.
Lost Pollito
Is it really that bad? The bourbon Early Times exports is my usual pour. My favorite 80 proofer. ...beats the 80 proof Beam White, Four Roses Yellow Label, even Rittenhouse 80 IMHO, and Ezra Brooks 90 as well. I don't have the ksb version. I think that may be why it seems to hurt a lil.
p_elliott
Hide the bottles! That's not a good story. I feel for you man. The only thing my wife drinks is the Buffalo Trace Cream Liquor so next trip I have to really stock up. I only bought 3 at the end of Sept and she just cracked the last one on Saturday. If the wife and the guests all were into my stash I'd only keep the locally available bottles on the counter. Protip: If your brother in law says he really likes GTS after his first pour halfway through a session, hide the bottle before he starts to loose motor control.RobertThat just means it's time to go to Kentucky again:grin: Paul
DeanSheen
RobertThat just means it's time to go to Kentucky again:grin: PaulYour right Paul, maybe I should only bring back 2 bottles this time so I can be sure to go again soon after my next return.I'm actually a bit torn now between April Sampler and Whiskeyfest/Binnyfest. :smiley_acbt:
Josh
I picked up a bottle of Pernod the other day for making Sazerac cocktails, and now that I'm unemployed I thought I might give it a try late this morning. It tasted great, but the only rye I had was Handy...wow. Good thing I don't have anywhere to go.:drinking:
IowaJeff
I have been enjoying a bottle of the OWA 107 in the new, non age statement bottle. I don't get a lot on the nose, and the finish is short, but it is short and enjoyably sweet. Goes down very, very easy, especially for a 107 proof. Sneaky and dangerous. I found 2 bottles of the OWA 107 in the old, 7 y.o. bottle this weekend, and got one for me and one for my dad. I'll have to compare and see if anything has changed bt the bottle. smokinjoe
Just returned home from calling on some customers around town. Having a nice pour of one of the two bottles of Lot B that I picked up for $39.99. The color seems a tad lighter, but the flavor is all there. Very good. There's a nice bit of something akin to coconut cream in there mid palate through the finish. Very, very satisfying.

nor02lei
Just a couple of small pours of WLW 2009 before dinner. It did taste very good but I am in a bad mode as the computer has began too malfunction (virus?), so I lost my desire for more whiskey.Leif
OscarV
OK my Bothers from other Mothers, I'm on my second pour of Four Roses Barrel Strength OESO recipe from Binny's, neat.I like to have it in a small brandy snifter, swirl it around and inhale the fumes. When you inhale it, it goes to the back of your throat like cocaine and you get a similar drip. Also the fumes gets into your eyes, I swear it is a tasting experience thru yo eyes.It is fat, lush, spicey, sweet and should be illegal. SMOWK
Trying like hell to finish off this bottle of Johnny Drum PS NAS. The more I drink it, the less I like it. It's too bad there's another in the bunker. I might have to pass that one off as a gift to someone I don't necessarily care for.
OscarV
I still have a Johnny Drum 8yo that I got several years ago with only a few pours taken from it.It has the taste that only a beaver could love.
smokinjoe
Knocking off the last of my bottle of Fighting Cock. It's a go-to during the college football season, but somehow I didn't manage to kill it off by the end. Or, maybe I killed the 1st, and this is the 2nd....I don't remember. I wont say it's HH's best bourbon, but it may be one of their most flavorful. Seriously, once you get past the initial heat blast and red hots, there's a lot going on here.
