SMOWK
I agree! The bottle I have open is from barrel No. 31, barreled on 03-30-00 and bottled on 10-14-09.The 3 I've had are in the trash. 2 of which were killed in a single sitting by me and another person. The third, well, maybe that was too. I can't remember. They all went VERY VERY VERY quickly though, as in, maybe a few hours on the shelf and then onto the bin.I've really been upping the tolerance level lately. Was able to single handedly knock off a VOBBIB in under 24 hours, and a second with my father before the 48 hour mark hit. Good juice. This board always points me in the right direction, even if I have to demand the store to allow me to get there.
Inthewater
SMOWK, you are more man than me. I have definitely gotten better with what I can handle, but a few 1-2 oz. glasses of 90-100 proof burbon and I am feeling mighty happy.Could drink a whole bottle, but my wife would probably kill me as I would be a slobbering mess.:slappin:
CorvallisCracker
I agree! The bottle I have open is from barrel No. 31, barreled on 03-30-00 and bottled on 10-14-09.If indeed that's what the label says, then sometime between 10-07-09 and 10-14-09 they corrected the programming on the label printer.Because mine claims to have been barreled on 10-07-09 and bottled on 03-30-00. SMOWK
My family has been practicing drinking for many, many generations. And I'm not a little guy.
Inthewater
Heh, I am no small-fry myself. Also, I have plenty of practice drinking, but there is a whole new world opened up when one stops drinking beer and mixed drinks and goes straight for the good stuff. BBQ+Bourbon
It's been a while since I found a good score. There's a liquor store in Jefferson City MO that looked promising, so I tried to check it out a few months ago. Door was locked, lights out. Today I drove by and there was a sandwich board with a hand written sign "Liquor Clearance." Hmmm..... Scored the following for 50% off, save for the Bulleit which was a freebie. No tax on anything. Pretty decent score, for me.

sailor22
Nice score on the WTKS. I have had my eye on some here but no chance for a 50% discount. The juice in the black smooth tops sure is dark isn't it?
BBQ+Bourbon
It sure is, Steve. It's some beautiful goods. Tonight may be a good night to open one of them! LOL Em. I've never had Bulleit or Basil Haydens so this was a double plus. I've not had Knob Creek in several years. The Basil Haydens reminds me of OGD BIB mixed 50:50 with water. The Knob Creek surprised me in a big way. I really like this juice; it reminds me of the SW OFBIB that a fellow SBer was kind enough to share but more spicy. Naturally I'm a novice and my impressions are only mine. Knob Creek is on my shopping list now. Haven't opened the rest of them but I am trading one OFBB and one WTKS. BBQ+Bourbon
Just cracked the Buleit. Wow. One sip in, I can't find anything redeeming about it. Emerald may be right. Free may be a tad high.

hectic1
In celebration of a new job offer I bought myself and present...a trip down to the South Loop location to see Joe. He was kind enough to point me in the direction of a bottle of Pappy 15 and a PHC 127.6 bottle! I also visited Manny's for a corned beef and turkey pastrami rueben style! nblair
Made my fist collectible bottle purchase on eBay. Got minis of some 1977 Old Fitzgerald BIB and Wild Turkey 8 Year. I'm pretty sure I outbid our own p_elliot for the goods. The fellow bidder had bought lots of collectible bottles and decanters, all I could see of his name was e****t.
