I did have Beam 6 grains before outdoors grilling yesterday. I do like it and as the Bernheim wheat it is very good if you put in age and proof as a factor. JDSS as usual later with the grilled bananas.

How do you rate the 6 grain leif is it worth me paying the premium and hunting a bottle down on ebay?

And apolgies if you take this the wrong way but "I did have" would read better as "I had"

You can have better bourbons for the same price Mark, but it is a special taste that differs from all bourbons I have had so it is an interesting bottle to try.

I don’t mind getting linguistic advice.

Well Bob, I know you have a bottle because I see it in your "Random bottles" pic in your post to "show us your stash". What, is that bottle for display purposes only?

Correct...I do have bottle that needs to be opened...I attempted it last night but I didn't have anything to cut the wax with so I poured from an open bottle of Binny's ETL. Why do they make those damn bottles so hard to open anyway?

You could ask Jake if he'd loan you his little friend. He'll make short work of that pesky wax.

It's a sobriety test, if you can't open them your too drunk to drink it anyway.

I had a bit of a low profile yesterday, with only a couple of small pours of Beam 6 grains and ETL before diner. The Beam pour tasted much better.

Edo - you've dipped your toe into the mad scientist realm of bourbon vatting. Gary Gillman is the chief scientist around here. My progression went from mixing, to cutting to neat. I now on occasion break out the lab coat and start vatting.

I had Beam 6 grains and Dickel ch before dinner yesterday. As we did get a nice but unexpected visit by my sister and her husband during dinner, we charred the pineapple dessert with WT 8 export and some 25 years rum with them. Last but not least I had ORVW 10/107 as a nightcap. The Turkey found the spot best last night.

Make it last, I saw your post about trying to stay away from the Centennial because once you get a taste for it it just disappears.

As for me, last night WT101, diet cola and lots of ice.

A handful of OC8 mixed with ginger ale and a lime wedge. Very refreshing considering it was 95* on the porch. Ended the evening with a couple pours of EC12 over cracked ice.

After being out of the country for 9 days and only drinking beer (don't the German's realize there's more than JB white label?) I had some AAA followed by Pappy 15.

Binny's FRBS OESO over crushed ice...too hot and humid in Chicago to drink neat...:(

It's hot and humid here in the mid Atlantic but that didn't stop me from a front porch respite for a cigar and a '86 JTS Brown 86 pf.

ORVW 10/107 on a couple of rocks. It's pretty swampy here in NE OH as well.

Steamy is SoCal...WT101 on the rock with an orange twist and a splash of club soda.
