cigarnv
Joe - IMHO, Blenheim's is the best Ginger Ale available. I love both the regular (hot) and the red cap (really hot). When I'm feeling extra dangerous, I mix the red cap with a high rye bourbon (WT) or Rye whiskey.Great stuff!! Greg got me hooked on the red cap. The diet version really lacks in flavor compared to the red cap but beats all the other shelf ginger ales...

ILLfarmboy
I've been so darn tired I haven't had anything to drink in the evenings, except milk with my supper and then enough ice tea to re-hydrate...... Thanks to cooler temps and overcast skies I'm having a very tasty pour of BT.

birdman1099
I cracked open the Johnny Drum 15 I found yesterday....This is definately in the Vintage 17 line. 2 years younger and at 101 proof. It is a bit hot on the entry, but the flavors are fantastic. Nice finish. I added a splash of water and it toned down nicely. I am quite impressed with it. and i am loving the $43 price tag !!!
Vosgar
We had our bowling league meeting tonight, so naturally bourbon had to be brought since the alley won't keep anything good on hand. Fishnbowljoe brought some great 91 Old Taylor and we also enjoyed some Pappy 15 and Ezra B 12 yr.A nice way to start the season.Gary
nor02lei
Me and my lade was out with friends at a bar in the small city north of ours. We had bunches of good beer, but I also ordered a pour of old Potrero single malt whiskey. Many years since I had this last. It kind of tasted somewhat in-between a straight rye and a grappa and it sure needed a lot of air and water. As I only had a main course at the bar I had red current pie back home before bedtime. As I have run almost dry out of JDSS I had WT 101 from 1986 instead with it. It worked out well, but not really as good as the JD that is unbeatable to this dish.Leif

nor02lei
Just 2 small pours of ETL and Blanton’s silver before dinner today. Nun of them tasted that good as the nose was a bit tight. However it have straighten out basically and the OGD 114 for a nightcap right now taste as good as ever.Leif

cigarnv
Sipping on a bit of Willet's - 8 year old Gonano selection barrel proof. Very forward fruit and spice, balanced sweetness, light wood tones. Developing complexity and a medium finish.Well done Dave....

nor02lei
JBW before dinner and that was my second and last pour out of that bottle for sure. After dinner I had WT 101 from 1986 with the panacota with raspberry topping for dessert. It worked all right but hand on my hart I think a good white dessert wine may have been better. The uncut 13 years HH from Cadenheads and OGD 114 tasted splendid later till right now.Leif
T Comp
The Van Winkle Lot B (presumed recent bottling) is nosing and tasting so fine tonight I'm thinking if you put a gun to my head and made me choose only one whiskey for the rest of my life this might be it.......of course there is a better chance that bullet would become lodged in my brain  . cigarnv
Greg, ggilberva, stopped by last evening bringing with him some great sammies from his Firehouse sub shop... damn good stuff. I felt obligated to offer him a few libations ( if I don't he just goes and gets it himself..lol!!) which began with a small beer tasting. We finished up tasting a few Willet's bottlings at various proof levels (barrel, 114 and 107). Also did a few pours of a single barrel ORVW 15/107.Always a great time with Greg....
