2 '09 GTS - My local store that carries it found missing bottles that didn't make it onto the shelf this year hidden under some other cases.

I went in looking for prices on MM 46, looked up to the top shelf and it was as if God was smiling at me when I saw the still paper wrapped bottles.

I said outloud, "These bottles aren't supposed to be here!". People in the store that were buying pucker and Bud Light Wheat looked at me like I was a crazy man with lobsters coming out of my ears.

I had been distraught since last fall - All she had out was WLR last year, and I was lucky enough to snag the very last bottle of it.

I'm trying to decide if I should go back and pick up the other 4 sitting on on the shelf @ $57 /btl (or should I pick up the PVW 15 bottles that she is holding for me @ $54.99?)

The total after tax was about 16.04. Not bad for a handle.

12- Old Weller Antique Cork 'N Bottle Selection, 6 #39 & 6 #40

7-- Four Roses Single Barrel Cork 'N Bottle Selection, 4 #13 & 3 #14

1-- Elijah Craig 18yo, bottled 8-23-91, won the BourbonJoe Weekly Taste Results

1-- Ancient Ancient Age 10yo, can't get it in MI

1-- Very Old Barton BIB, also no MI

1-- Wild Turkey Rare Breed, $7 less than MI price

1-- Wild Turkey 101, saved $5 plus free WT BBQ sauce

1-- Wild Turkey Rye 101, $5 more to keep

1-- WL Weller Special Reserve, kept another 5-er

1-- Maker's Mark 200ml, to compare to the Maker's 46

1-- Bulleit 50ml, to wet my whistle between stops

17 of these are for me, the rest go to other MI Bourbon Hounds and Buckeye Bourbon Buddies.

I failed to score 7 other bottles on "The Want List".

OGD BIB (100) - looking forward tonight to my first taste of this venerable and well-regarded bourbon.

EW Black (a 1.75L on sale with a mini of their "Honey Reserve" attached) - probably evening out to be my daily pour when mixing with anything. I think I like it more than JB Black. I'll save the mini for guests as I've discovered that the "sweet stuff" isn't for me, even under desperate circumstances.

Today while shopping I also noticed a good way to feel thrifty and virtuous about all this bourbon buying I've been doing: walk down the scotch aisle. :grin:

Not a ton today but went looking anyway! Picked up a 1983 Liter of Old Taylor 86, 1993 WT old #8 and a 1979 13 yr old Bush Pilot (for a 13 year old Canadian this stuff has no color?????)

It was a slow day.

Tony - If I remember correctly the Bush Pilot was aged in un-charred barrels, explaining the lack of dark color.
