My dad and I popped open the Parker's Heritage Collection: Cask Strength last night and it was DELICIOUS. For me it was smoother than expected and had hints of a dark chocolate aftertaste. At 129.6 proof it does burn a bit, which i like, but was very tasty. The store I purchased it from locally has another couple of bottles I think I might pick up. Definitely one of my favorites up to this point.

Additionally, sorry in advance for my incredibly crude tasting notes.

Is there any hope that this will be available in MI?

I'd get a bottle if it was or I may ask a friend to bring me one from KY if not.

Thanks.

Will

If anyone comes across a bottle of this, I'd love to read your thoughts and notes on it. I'm a fan of wheaters, and I look forward to this.

They were pouring this last night at the Evan Williams Single Barrel release party...I must say it was pretty nice.

non-chill filtered, cask strength wheated bourbon

Sounds real interesting; I'll have to see if there is any to be had in Missouri when I get home.

You guys have better connections.

No not connections, we have better effort.

Road trips to KY and Chi-Town are always worth the effort.

At least two per year @ each place.

Even if you don't score any good bourbon bottles at least you are out of the stinkin' mitten.

Yes, you are so right about the effort. Now, I'm not down on living in the mitten in spite of all our troubles.

I was in Chicago a month ago but on a business trip it is impossible to go on a bourbon hunt.

Will, I am going to be in Chi-Town Thursday evening. If you would like a bottle from Binny's call the South Loop store and buy it. I will pick it up and deliver it for you! That's what us hounds do.

Regards,

Tony

and it is almost possible to forget you are drinking whiskey and not brandy.

Undiluted I get red raspberry on the nose and very dark molasses on the palate. Diluted I get caramel and vanilla on both, also old oak on the nose and on the palate very light notes of mint, oregano, and teriyaki sauce.

Especially when diluted it is all wheater, with caramel and vanilla dominating, though at times the caramel slips away and pancake syrup sweetness takes over. Undiluted it is very rich and intense. More licorice comes through, especially on the finish.

If it resembles anything on the market now it would be WLW. It is very unlike Van Winkle Lot B or Weller 12. You won't mistake it for a Stitzel-Weller, but it picked up in 10 years almost as much barrel action as the recent Jefferson's did in 17.

Found on the October 31 Michigan Supplemental Price List

PARKERS HERITAGE WHEATED BBN$78.99

Not a bad price. Hopefully it will be on a shelf somewhere before the end of the year.

My favorite new item on the list is the "Ugly Dog Rum" @ $16.98.

Picture giving that to someone as a Xmas gift.

Back to the thread - Now I just hope that the retailers will put it on their shelves. The other Parker speciality bottles are still sitting there, @ $150 and up.

If people still can't find this I'm more than happy to help make someones wishes come true. I've seen this in about 3-5 stores I usually frequent and don't mind sending a bottle or whatever someone's way. And no, I'm not trying to make a profit for my services. Just as long as you have the money to pay for the bottle and the shipping.

Its on the shelves here. At $130.00 plus. A store in a nearby town has ordered some for us at $80.00. Thats not too bad, so we got a case each.

Tried it during the KBF. I find it an awesome bourbon with few equals (at least in my experience) at any price. It is just full of all those sweet, fruity, warm flavors and aromas that make you sit for hours just trying to pin down a couple of them.

To each their own, but for me its really nice.

Does anyone know for sure how many different bottlings of this there will be? I have 2 different bottlings now...127.8 and 124.2...I've seen pictures of a 131.2 bottling too...has anyone see that in the wild?
