dean_martin
Does anyone know if the EVSB2000 was able to be sold in Alabama? I called up the ABC store and he said he has never seen or heard of it through them. So trying to figure out if I really have go to TN or over to Atlanta to check next time I am driving around. The answer to your question is yes, but with a caveat or two. The EWSB is on the ABC Board's Wholesale price list which means you can get it at a bar or a private liquor store that decides to carry it (or you can ask them to order it for you). Personally, I wouldn't ask your local ABC store about something that's on the wholesale list but not on the retail list. As you've found, it's a waste of time. There is at least one ABC store in each region of the state that is a retail store and wholesale store. I'd track down that store for your region and just go in and look around. I'm not sure what the policy is or whether it was a mistake, but I've purchased stuff on the wholesale list at these double-duty stores. If what you want is not on the retail shelf, then ask about it. If they can't sell it to you, then maybe they can tell you which private package stores they wholesale it to in your area. You might want to be armed with the quarterly price list which is available to the public at the link below. (I'm almost embarassed to post this link due to the poor selection we're subjected to.) There is also a list of stores identifying which ones are both retail and wholesale. It helps to become a regular at one of the double-duty stores. If you have any questions, respond or pm. http://www.abc.alabama.gov/index.aspx

CaptainQ
Just finished up the purchases for "wheater week". Started off with a lovely box containing two fine examples of BTs wheated bourbon hand selected by Brian and the fine folks at Everett's Liquors. Bottle one is the Weller SRSB and the other is also a WSR, but three different barrels blended together and bottled in a 1.75. A big :thankyousign: to Joe!Finished with a bottle of Pappy 20 and 2010 Parkers Heritage 10 year 124.2 proof version. Great way to end the week. Waiahi
I picked up my first bottle of Lot B. Of course, I had to fly 3000 miles from Hawaii to Las Vegas to find it.I've already drank 1/3rd of it. Great stuff. It is the first wheater I've had other than Makers Mark...and I think it's far more refined and has subtle complexity that makes MM taste harsh when I tried to compare the two in a side-by-side taste test. LOL I used to wonder at all the grief so many of you on SB give to MM, and all the praise for PVW.But now I don't want to drink it anymore and just save it for as long as possible, since I don't know when I'll get another chance to go to Vegas and pick up another one...:skep:
ebo
I picked up a couple of bottles of EWSB 2000 before it's gone. I would have picked up a 2001, but there were none, yet. I also grabbed a bottle of Knob Creek SB and a bottle of FRSB.
G.H.Adams
Picked up some more 1792 and Makers Mark. When I got home I had an email from a store I do business with in California. They just got in some KCSB and had it on sale for $35.99. I ordered two bottles.

Interesting.Good job Will. Sometimes it's hard to figure out some store owners/managers. I stopped at a store last weekend that said they'd call me if/when they got any BTAC in. Yep. On the shelf was all the BTAC minus GTS. I left without saying or buying anything. FWIW, I stopped at another store a few minutes away, and they had some BTAC too. $5 cheaper. Didn't buy any, but that's where I picked up the KCSBR and a bottle of Noah's Mill. Interesting.I am seeing this more and more lately. The last two Pappy purchases I had were only brought on when I asked for it specifically. And actually, I believe both bottles were being "held" for some store employee who was taking too long to purchase.

bourbonNOOG
While traveling stumbled upon a store that has 6 bottles of FR 2009 Mariage. I purchased 1. They were $90 a bottle. Seemed a bit steep but not too far off from some prices I've seen on here. At that price though I couldn't afford to get more than one. Hope it's worth the money I paid. Judging from what I've read on here it will be.

hectic1
I found 2 handles of Old Ftiz prime with faux tax strips from the 80's about a year and a half ago...I happened to be back in the area so I stopped back in to see if they were still there and as luck would have it they were. He was asking $29 a handle and I told him that at that price they would probably sit there for another 25 years...I told him that if he would sell them for $24 each I would take them home today...I now own them! lrochau
Picked up a bottle of Buffalo Trace from a hand picked barrell by the manager at Eagle River Liquors in Fulton, IL. My buddy was invited to test some samples to help pick the new barrel from BT and he got me an invite too! Great experience that I'll never forget. Great people there.... Looking forward to being able to buy bottles of the new barrel that I helped pick!
