Had a little extra time to visit one of the major liquor stores here. I came home with three bottles. First was a new bottle I'd never seen before, Virgin 7 year 101 proof. Second was EWSB: barreled 7-18-01, barrel number 129, bottled on 1-4-11. The last was old faithful, Weller 12.:yum:

I had a pour from the Virgin and I must say pretty good for a $14 bottle. It has the classic HH nose, but the taste is a bit different from EW. I like the sweetness up front and the 101 gives it a nice richness.

Got a bottle of Buffalo Trace as a gift yesterday. Hadn't had this in a while. Lots of rye on the palate, but a bit too "thin" for my tastes. Followed it up with some Lot B. The contrast was magnificent.

Had a few good scores over the weekend: PVW 20, ORVW107, VW FR Rye, LotB. Haven't gone anywhere exciting for a long time so I decided to treat myself to a few goodies!

I remember buying a bottle of Sam Houston in Texas some time back but for the life of me cannot recall enough tasting notes to post a credible description. I do remember thinking Evan Williams 1783 43% was 10 yrs old and cost half as much.

Nothing today but awaiting delivery on the 23rd of Four Roses Yellow and Four Roses Small Batch. As I have not had any Four Roses product before I am looking forward to this.

Stopped at a local this morning while returning to the office, added my name to the wait list for the Van Winkle Spring release.

So did you buy anything or not? I grabbed a couple handles of ND OGD 86 that I found...Love me some ND juice!

Nope, not a thing. Passing the entire Bourbon section I like to think it was due to strength of character but the truth is I didn't want to walk into the office with a briefcase in one hand and a bottle of booze in the other.

Went hunting today, spent way more then I planned:

Jim Beam Distiller Series

WLW

Saz 18

Can't believe I found some BTAC, and WLW to boot. Time to make some Centennial in my glass.

Happy with the Beam purchase, for the price I find it a great pour. Would buy more if I could find it.

2 bottles of Old Fitz BiB. I've been looking for this for a while and was happy to spend less than $30 on the pair.

I haven't been out hunting in a while and work sent me to the WI/MN border so I figured since I drove I'd might as well look around! :D

I ended up with 22 200ml DSP 16 Old Fitz BIB's, 6 1.75's of ND ODG 86, 1 Pyrat Pistol, 4 WTRB W-T-01-97, 2 BHC VSOF, 1 BHC Dickel, 2 375's OT 6/86 from 85, and 3 OT 6/86 from 86...all in all a good day! :D

My god! Was that on the WI or Minn. side? (Just curious. I won't ask for more details than that.)
