IowaJeff
Did you find AA 10 year in Iowa? :skep:Yes. I was surprised. I had to do a quadruple take to make sure I wasn't being fooled by 10-star.

CaptainQ
Grabbed a couple ABRAHAM BOWMAN VIRGINIA LIMITED EDITION RYE WHISKEY and a OWA Single Barrel.Happy St. Patty's day to me! If that's the Party Source OWA let it open up before you pass judgement. I did not like it when I first tried it, but the more air it got the better it became. I did not like it when I first tried it, but the more air it got the better it became. It is...with all wheaters I normally opened them and have a pour or two. Then I put it back on the shelf for a couple weeks to let them breath a little...I've learned this many times over that IMO ALL wheaters get better with some time open in the bottle. After my second pour I think it's probably the best Antique I've tasted since the Lousiville days.
T Comp
Really? I thought it was good right away, but if it improves that's even better. After my second pour I think it's probably the best Antique I've tasted since the Lousiville days. A single barrel OWA from a store here in Chicago, Kenwood Liquors, that tommyboy donated to me, after my wife tried to abscond with it , is awfully goood too. But relating the Party Source version to gold veined Louisville certainly gets my attention. However this weeks budget has already been blown by JDSB, BT SB from the aforementioned Kenwood and thanks to a Ralfy video, a Mount Gay extra old. Virus_Of_Life
But relating the Party Source version to gold veined Louisville certainly gets my attention.Well maybe I was being too generous, I quite frankly wasn't a fan of the standard Frankfort Antique neither the 7year nor the NAS. Sure they were decent bourbon, but I think this Single Barrel lets some unique flavors show whereas the standard buries them with it's vatting. CaptainQ
Really? I thought it was good right away, but if it improves that's even better. After my second pour I think it's probably the best Antique I've tasted since the Lousiville days.I conducted a side by side tasting with new/unopened bottles of OWA NAS, regular and PS SB. All four of us preferred the regular bottling that night. The PS bottling was too hot/showing much alcohol while the regular had a wonderful carmel sweetness with some depth to it. Now, several months later, the regular bottling is still as good. The PS bottle is much richer and has more layers of flavor that incorporate the 107 proof very well.:yum: So, if you like it now that's fantastic. I'll be adding more to my stash soon. Man...you're lucky I didn't catch you on my side of town... I have a couple bottles of Kenwood's OWA and WSR...for $20 and $17 it's good stuff and one of my everyday pours. I'm going to have Tom over here soon for a tasting...let me know if you're interested in making the trip.
