OscarV
Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit 2001, neat.Got home early and have a couple slabs of ribs on the grill slowly cooking/smoking.It's 42 degrees so I thought I'd better take advantage of it because snow/ice/rain coming tomorrow,...btw it's not looking good for the Chi-Town roadtrip. BMartin42
The poker group and I will be hitting two "investor" bottles this evening. "Investor" meaning bottles we split because none of us want to pay for a whole bottle to try. Woodford Reserve Maple FinishJefferson's 18.I have high hopes for the Jefferson's, but am personally expecting the worst from the WR.
Parkersback
Started with Rittenhouse BIB. Just opened the bottle, so it's a bit hot. But I can already taste the sweetness down in there. Someone on SB once said, "Pecan Pie", and I think that's spot on.Went to Weller 12, which was nice.Finished with Forty Creek Barrel Select. Man, I really do like this whiskey. Some sherry and sweet, followed by some nice cocoa notes. I don't really have much experience with many Canadians, but this can't be a bad place to start. And I've got to call it quits for the night or I'll be asleep by 8! B.B. Babington
I'm jealous of the 21 rye!For 3 days now I've done the same routine, EC18 then Kentucky Spirit (bottled 08). OscarV has the 2001 tonight, must be something in the wind?
White Dog
4R Mariage 2009. Wanted to see what the fuss was about. I must say, the high-end 4R stuff is by far some of the best rye recipe stuff I've come across.

hectic1
Willett Reid/Emerald 17yr 133.2 proof cut down to 107 proof and it's fantastic...easily better then any bottle of WLW or GTS I've had the opportunity to taste. I followed that up with some Julio's JRPS 18yr unchill filtered...very sweet on entry with vanilla and caramel floating in and out mid pallet with a little bit of nuts on the finish...a very good pour! It's been a good night of bourbon drinking!

nor02lei
I had Mark Twain 12 years from 1977 and old Stagg 6 years from 1971 before dinner yesterday. Both tasted good at 86 proof, but the first that are a HH brand was a bit surprisingly best. Then later ORVW 10/107 from 2002 with the nut pie for dessert. An excellent combination as usual!Leif

Sometime when the whiskey coffers are a little more flush, I'll try to hunt down one of the other expressions of Forty Creek.

How do you find the 2001 in comparison to the 2000?After a big night last night I'm keeping it low key with WL Weller Special Reserve - just needed something light and easy to drink tonight!
