Started off with some KCSB and then went to Rare Breed. Definitely enjoyed the KCSB more, a lot more. That surprised me a bit, and that's why I'm back to KCSB.

I did pop a WT12 split yesterday and the cork broke as usual. I haven’t had this in a couple of years, but it tasted about as I remembered it. Than some OGD 114 later.

We're talking about a long tall pour of slope-shouldered OCPR and man does it taste fine.

Weller SR with over ice with water. A little thinner than I recall even without the ice or water.

After a very long day of work I was going back and forth with the idea of working out or a big pour of bourbon....guess which won out.

OGD 114

Oh well...I guess I'll have to work out in the morning!

Hey there isn't anything wrong with a good workout and rewarding yourself before bed with nice little pour. Heck I do it about every night.:drink:

Haha...good point Andy - but tonight the gym just required too much effort!

Just opened and drank a glass of McScrooge'e Private Selection Four Roses Single Barrel. This is my second bottle, and the second taste as good as I remembered the first. It has a beautiful sorrel color, much like a glistening thoroughbred in a bright fall sun after running at Keeneland. The legs are strong, giving proof of its 56% alcohol content. But, surprisingly, the alcohol does not overpower the nose which reminds somewhat of the smell of molasses at the cook off, when the sugar cane is being boiled down to the thickened stage and even tending toward a dark chocolate smell. A really good smell, but powerful giving one hope of future great pleasure. The opening taste does have a molasses edge, but tends more for me to the ripe banana flavor. Very pleasing and tasteful, yet bold and memorable. The strong alcohol does not burn or give a strong sensation but gives a nice warming feeling. No shiver here, just a great taste that finishes nicely. And the finish is impressive, leaving the palate pleasingly refreshed with the taste lingering for a long while. It surprises me that the Four Roses is so tasteful after 8 1/2 years in the barrel. However, there is no oak taste, and if strong oak floats your boat, you should move on. If complex, lingering taste is your cup of tea, definitely try this private bottling if you happen through Knoxville.

Vintage 23 Rye last night. This is my second bottle of this and must be from a different batch than the first. The first was as woody as you would expect (which I enjoy on occasion) but this one is fruity and sweet with oak in balance. There is more grape and plum in this than some Port's I have tasted. Lovely juice.

Finished off a small bottle (375mL) of Knob Creek, before moving onto a bottle of the Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve. 120 proof, not much more expensive than the regular stuff.

Tastes a lot like regular KC, but bigger, bolder, and gutsier. The character is pretty similar-- some sugar maple, a bit of vanilla, a touch of fennel and spice.

Four Roses Single Barrel Curtis/Hightower selection of 10-28-08, neat.

Aw yeah, now that's the stuff! Whatever happened to those guys anyway?

Tomorrow I go on meds that don't play to well with alcohol, so I'm making up for it tonight! GTS 2009 to be soon followed by 4R Mariage 2009! Nothing but the best tonight!
