politely
Finished off a bottle of Pappy 20 - noticed that the last pours had significantly more wood than what I recall from the initial pours. Maybe there's something to the idea of a quick shake before drinking? Finishing up the evening with some JPS 17, which I still continue to like very much. Josh
It's St Patrick's Day I'm having Black Bush of course. Never had Black Bush myself. I keep wanting to try it, but the wife won't let me. She says I should be satisfied with what I already have. Anyway, the baby eventually woke up yesterday...

We're still talking about whiskey, right? Back to topic, last night I took a renewed interest in an older bottle of WTKS. I wasn't too fond of this initially (I might have been expecting more for the $), but I'm now appreciating its qualities.

hectic1
Finally got around to opening a bottle of ETL 15yr and I have to say it's pretty damn good. It's the first bourbon I've ever had that I wanted to GULP down b/c it was so tasty. In a word it's one of the most "balanced" pours I've had. Nice nose, pallet, and finish...I would have loved to have seen this bottling at 100 or 107 but it's still pretty damn good at 90pr. I followed that up with some Beam's Choice 8/86 from 1971...Beam sure "knew" how to make bourbon back then...I haven't had anything from them of late that is remotely as good as this stuff. The one area that I was amazed with was the thick coating feel it had...stunning! Glad I grabbed a bunch of these bottles when I had the chance...look for some at a Gazebo near you! unclebunk
I love OF Signature too and always keep a 1.75 bottle on hand, as it's popular with my friends when we get together to play cards. But tonight we'll be hitting a 1996 EWSB.

chefnash51
that's a fun lineup... i feel like the col. e.h. and FR mariage would pair up well next to each other.Yes they did pair very well. Still forming my opinions on the E.H. I know I like it. There is a sweetpleasantness to it that is different then almost anything I've had. After a GD BiB pour I am enjoying a ER17 - Stagg - ER 10 vat. Ratio 2:1:
cigarnv
A bit of High West Double Rye...... Big, rich and loaded with spice. This is another winner from the High West folks!
jcg9779
I was out with friends last night and the bar had a limited bourbon selection. Ended up drinking some Gentleman Jack, and had an OGD 114 nightcap when I got home.
