G.H.Adams
Just sitting around playing on the computer and enjoying several pours of Old Charter 10. A nice simple bourbon that I don't have to think about. It and AAA 10 are starting to be my everyday pours.

Parkersback
Some OGD86 from 1984. Wonderful, wonderful stuff. I may sort of prefer it to the BIB, actually.

unclebunk
Finished off a nice Mother's Day last with a healthy pour of Michter's Small Batch American Whiskey. Someone gifted me this one awhile back and I just got around to opening it. It's a tad on the sweet side, though not in a particularly bad way, so went well with the chocolate cake we had for dessert.
Gillman
Knob Creek SB. Disappointing (to me) in that the higher proof and single barrel just seem to concentrate what I don't like in the Beam line, that strong funky-yeast-like note. Gary
DeanSheen
Some One One Four fresh back from the Holy Land. Yeah, I can't get it here.

It wasn't bad, but the first thing I thought when I tasted it was, "This is barrel strength Jim Beam Black."Not that that's a bad thing. It's just not a great thing. mosugoji64
Just polished off a pour of EWSB '00, now working on some HH Gold Label BIB. Guess I'm in a HH mood tonight ...
BMartin42
Because of the current other thread I went back for a pour of Corner Creek. I still find it thin. The mouth taste isn't bad just not "good". The thing that really bothers me about this pour is the finish. Can't put my finger on it but just don't care for it.

I think it has a nice thick mouthfeel that I really appreciated at first. My opinion of it declined pretty rapidly after that initial tasting, though. I don't think I will be buying another bottle any time soon.
G.H.Adams
Just enjoying pours of Old Charter 10 year old and Ancient Ancient Age 10 year old. Will probably finish off the AAA 10 year old but more will be delivered tomorrow.
jcg9779
Tonight I conducted a taste test with a friend of mine to see what from a small collection of bourbons. The bourbons were:A. VOB BIBB. EC12C. Weller SRI picked these three because they are all value pours and within 5% ABV of each other. I didn't want to pick anything that was too different in quality or price for this taste test. My friend is a Maker's Mark fan, so I had assumed that he would pick the Weller SR. He actually picked VOB BIB as his first choice, the Weller SR as his second, and the EC12 as a distant third. He was very disappointed that the VOB BIB is not available in Georgia - in retrospect, I should have chosen three bourbons that are available in this area! Booker's is still the only Beam I reach for .... and not all that often.

mosugoji64
EW1783. For whatever reason, I always thought this was a step down from the black label. Maybe it was the bottle, who knows. Anyway, after some reading I decided to give it a shot. It's rather nice. A nice helping of caramel on the nose. The taste has a good bit of the straw/grass flavor that I associate with Buffalo Trace. Very good for the price!
SMOWK
Ryan.. same thing happened with me... really liked it at first but the next few pours did nothing for me. Booker's is still the only Beam I reach for .... and not all that often.I am having the same results with KCSBR. I've now been through three or four bottles, and each one seems to impress me less and less. I don't know if it was the hype at first, or if I just liked the first few barrels more. Either way, I don't think I'll be picking up another anytime soon. Unless of course, one of my regular stores puts it back on the shelf at 29.99 right next to the "normal" KC at 28.99.
