The brightest star in my sky tonight is an 8 year, 86 proof, red tax strip sealed Walker's DeLuxe Straight Bourbon Whiskey from a half pint bottle with 77 stamped on the bottom glass. Caramel, maple syrup, subtle apple spice and rum. Excellent straight bourbon whiskey from Peoria, Illinois. The fill level on this was about a half ounce down but the strip and cap were sealed tight and it obviously hasn't effected its taste.

Well this morning I found WLW 117.9 and GTS 141.4. Significantly bourbons one common trait, they are both excellent pours.

No more morning bourbon until next Saturday.

This reminds me of a story my father would tell about an old timer who would have a daily drink of whiskey with his breakfast. Something to look forward to.

Going to be a Rare Breed night. But first having some Herbsaint while I tend to the grill.

The indispensable ingredient for the the Sazerac is mighty fine on it's own. Plus, a Herbsaint Frappe is so easy to make.

Haven't picked up any PHC yet. All I can find is the 27 year PHC in these parts. Debating if it's worth the 160 dollar price tag.

Sitting at the computer nursing several pours of Old Fitz BIB. I think it's going to make a good everyday value pour. I had never had this before and picked up two one liter bottles on my way home from a trip. Me thinks I will have to lay some more in.
