Old Potrero Straight Rye. My first bottle ever, and it tastes shockingly young and incomplete.

Pulled something out of the bunker that wasn't there long.

Willett

Family Estate Bottled Single Barrel Bourbon

6 Years Old

129.2 Proof

Distilled January 6, 2003

Warehouse G

Rick North 4

Barrel No 763

Bottle No 125 of 188

Selected by Pacific Edge Wine & Spirits,... my apologizes to Roger aka Rughi, I bought it before I knew Roger, sorry.

Ok then, does any of the warehouse and rick info mean anything to you?

I ask because if someone knows maybe I can figure out who distilled this.

It is very dark for a 6yo, also it's suprising that there were only 188 bottels after 6 years.

I have ruled out Heaven Hill, no mint, but I could be wrong.

No funky Jim Beam yeast.

Not familar enough with Old Forester to say yay or nay.

And not nearly enough char for it to be Wild Turkey.

It's very dense and water doesn't seem to cut down the taste.

It's not multi layered but it has a rich flavor that I like but can't describe, medium finish.

To me it's something very different.

Oscar, I have tasted a 5 and 8 yo that were Brown Forman, both were pretty dark for the age - but when you're talking barrel proof most are - and very, very good. I also am pretty sure the 8 year I got from Party Source is a BF distilled product..

For the record that PS had 164 bottles at 8 years, Warehouse C, North 12, Barrel 375

I like BF at BP!

I too am enjoying some 6yr old Willett from Julios 122 proof. I also recently purchased a handle of VOB 6yr 100 proof and when I cut the Willetts to 100 I notice very similiar characteristics so I was thinking it could be Barton. Then again I really do no know only a guess but at 23 bucks a handle from the PS I think it is a mighty fine buy

Hear that Mr. Morris? It's time for a barrel-proof OF. Preferably one with a double digit age statement! Let's git-er-done!

Oh yeah, and I'm drinking some Wild Turkey Rye tonight. YUMMO.

That's funny Josh, right after I posted that I was checking my OFBB inventory and thinking to myself "Man wouldn't it be nice if they changed, or added a second annual OFBB, and made it 12 years and barrel proof or at least 107"...

A pour of PVW15 while attempting to summon the spirit of King McClure to navigate the evils of our 3 tier system to deliver me another PVW15.

Cool crisp evening in northern Illinois tonight, enjoyed a very healthy pour of Pappy 15 along with an Oliva Serie V cigar on the back deck. It really has me looking forward to going to Doug's during the Sampler.

Picked up some GTS08 today so having a pour of that alongside some GTS10. I definitely think the 10 is more complex w/ more bold flavors than the 08 but tonight I'm not really in the mood for that so tonight 08 wins out it seems. Nice to know and to have them both so I can have a pour of whichever I'm in the mood for. Stagg really is amazing though and giving PVW a run for its money when it comes to my favorite bourbons.

Had a pour of JPS 17 .. really hoping some PVW 15 comes my way and soon. I have refused to drink any until I secure more. I have some bunkered, but it will just taste better when it's a victory drink.

Had a small pour of BT this evening. I'm assuming my cold has a lot to do with it, but it wasn't enjoyable, entirely too hot. I added a splash of water at room temp and it opened up nicely though.

Would that be a R/E 1 6yr Oscar?
