I am spending the evening with Eagle Rare 10 year old. May pour a nightcap of Abraham Bowman Rye. Hope TPS gets in a new supply soon.

Pappy 15 and Stagg 10. Drinking away the fact that I had a 5 horse trifecta box with 5 of the top 6 but not Shackleford.... Who really wants to win $1400 on a trifecta anyway! At least I drank good booze.

I believe I was taken by the rapture because the nose on this Hirsch Selection 13 Year Rye is absolute Heaven! And it follows through on the pallette every bit as good. Thank you Jesus!

Celebrating the rapture with some Heaven Hill black label. It's better than green label, but just not as good as HH BIB selections.

Got some Noah's Mill and Vintage 17 in glasses for a side-by-side. Do I start before our fish and chips dinner, or after.... :skep:

Will, it seems we are again being Sunday morning drinking buddies.

I got a WT RR 90 a week ago and have been tasting it almost everyday last week.

I am sold, this is very good bourbon.

I have been reserving Sunday mornings to do a serious tasting analysis.

A honeyed nut nose, creamy spice entry, sweet butter and nutty mid-palate, finish is a combination of all the previous flavors plus a couple more that I can't identify.

This is a subtle and powerful bourbon at the same time.

I have been hung up about the proof since they lowered it but there is a lot of multi layered flavor here.

One has to forget about the other Turkeys, this is a different bourbon which is a good thing, why buy the same stuff with just a different label?

I think WT RR 90 will be getting into my daily rotation carousel.

Thanks Oscar, I'm going to try a bottle. Never bought one and have only tasted it in passing. Anyone know if there is any perceived difference between the old label versus new label of the RR 90? I know a store that had a few old labels around at a decent price.

In celebration of the recent rapture fail, I'm having a pour of Weller Special Reserve from Louisville. Phwew!

Obviously they are from differnt barrels but the taste is the same profile.

I will admit that this is the first RR 90 new label that I have had.

I was dissapointed in the old label but that was totaly due to comparing it to RR 101.

I think RR 90 stands on it's own two feet.

FR SB 2009 Ltd. Ed. followed by JPS 17 barrel #7. I wish I had a PVW 15 or 20 to compare to the JPS. FWIW, I don't find this bottling of JPS to be woody or off-balance. It is well-rounded on the palate with more oak coming thru on the finish. It would be nice to compare this to other SW of the same age...still learning.

Oscar, thanks for these tasting notes. I'm WT a neophyte and bought my first bottle of RR a week or so ago.

As for what I'm drinking at the moment, that'd be RittBIB. If there's a better current bottle of $20 whiskey, I don't know about it.

I started the evening with a pour of Blanton's but it was not getting it done. Pulled out the Old Charter 10 and it is hitting the spot tonight.

Winding down the weekend with a pour of FRSmB. Needed something a little more delicate after a drunken weekend.

After a grueling 100k bike ride in the rain, I decided to end the day with a pour of Pappy 20 and then Weller Centennial. Yum.

Started with ER17. Moved on to Wathens. Then to RR. Finishing with FRsmB. All in all a good evening. The Four Roses seems to be the winner.

Finished the evening with a short pour of WT American Spirit...

How do you feel about that bourbon? I bought a bottle lately based on the recommendation of a couple people but have yet to crack it open. I have since heard varying opinions

I got a little frustrated at work so I busted out the ORVW10/90

This stuff is pretty good but I wish I could have landed the 107...
