Having a swallow or two of Very Special Old Fitz current edition (relatively speaking). I still think this tastes a lot like French brandy. It is also freakishly dark, almost a brick red.

Just brought home a bottle of the 4R 2010 Limited.....currently sipping on it. Good stuff.

Sittin' out back, listening to the Braves on the radio, with a pewter top WTKS. BTW, we can't hit for sh$! This Turkey is hittin' the spot, though.

I've gotta ask. The pewter top is just the color...not actual pewter, correct? I've seen quite a bit pewter colored wooden topped WTKS bottles. Haven't bought because i wasn't sure.

I've never had them tested for authenticity, but they are pretty heavy (4.6oz) so I suppose they are really pewter and not painted/gilded wood.

When looking at bottles on the shelf, the "dustiest" would be the pewter tops, followed by smooth brown, dark brown with embossed turkey, light wood (cherry?) with embossed turkey. I've had the best luck with the pewter and the smooth tops.

Started the night by grilling some beer brats with some Jameson 12yr and Ginger...following that up with some Old Fitz BIB DSP 16 and now some Lville Weller Cent. :)

Thank you. I will pay closer attention.

Sipping on some 4R small batch now.

ER 17yr 2010 vintage is the pour in the glass now. Earlier at the grill it was a small nip of OGD 114.

A welcome end to a long week.

Couple of firsts for me this eve.

First up was some Henry McKenna BIB -- nice, but not overly so. Gonna see where this one heads now that it's open.

Now it's some OWA -- oh, my. I adore the 12, and this is also some very fine juice. I'm beginning to suspect that I'm a wheater at heart.

It's been a Pappy night for me. Lot B, Pappy 20, and Pappy 15. Great end to a very busy week. Joe

Old Grand-Dad 114, my favorite Beam product (although I'm still having difficulty with 100+ proof bourbons).

Then some Michael Collins 10-year Single Malt.

Although we were tasting some beer I started the evening off with the last ounce of a Willett 18YO wheater... big, rich, sweet with the wood well under control.

Opening my Kirkland Signature from Costco. Tastes an awful lot like a 107 proof JB Black to me.

WT 101 on the rocks, Saturday afternoon, lawn work done, I'd say I deserve it.

Oscar, now that sounds like just about the perfect pour for a bit of porch sitting after a day of yard work. Been doing some yard clean up so I think I will join you in a pour of WT 101 on the rocks... possibly even bust out a small cigar to celebrate no rain for 12 hours!!

Heck, I did yard work, too! If I may, I'll join ya'll in a pour. Don't have any WT 101 open, so I'll just go with an EC12.

Cheers!

Some early 80's Dickel 90 proof. Rounded, buttery/silky/nutty, good length. Much better than the current version in my opinion.

No rain in 12 hours?!?!?

We call that a drought here in MI for Spring 2011.

I think so, Reid. But, later tonight while I listen to the Braves on the radio. :bandit:

That sounds good Joe.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Tigers got rained out tonight.

I am kinda hoping they do because the Red Sox are super hot right now.

But then again it would be cool to see them on the FOX game of the week.
