Same Downstoyfarm? You made your SB.com name the same as your E-bay? And you posted your picture on our site with the goods you are selling.......fantastic!

Kind of a shame that the contents aren't meant for consumption; they're probably pretty tasty. Glass gets pricier all the time. :slappin:

Soooo...that's what he does with those. I was on ebay last night just messing around and saw those prices and laughed. Never looked at the member.

Well, my friend came through for me again. Took delivery of a 1983 Jim Beam musky decanter today. Tax stamp was intact, and the bourbon is fine. 100 months old, 80 proof, nose that has that caramel/butterscotch/nutty thing going on, and a little hint of mustiness. The mustiness reminds me of when I used to go to my grandmothers house when I was a kid. The taste is great too. Slightly sweet, like some type of candy, offset by a slight hint of leather. I'd buy more 80 proofers if they all tasted like this. Cheers! Joe

Man that thing is ugly Joe. Glad the juice tastes good. That has to be one of the strangest decanters I've yet to see.

Man that is an understatement! He's lucky his wife let it into the house. :slappin:

Quite easily the ugliest decanter I've ever seen.

Incredible.

The bourbon itself is actually in the base. The fish is hollow, and it's held on the base by velcro. First time I've seen that. In case you missed it, I got the bass and catfish a few weeks ago. Joe

Just thought honesty is the best policy. Any of you other posters (who's eBay Id's recognize) want to come clean?

For the record I'm a collector, investor, buyer, seller and 'drinker'. I have over 200 bottles in my collection, not counting the ones I drink.

If it bothers some of you, I'll be happy to recuse myself from the site.

"Book 'em, Danno"

In all seriousness, I don't care what you do. The REAL losers are the people spending those prices on eBay.

Here's to hoping one of the bottles breaks in shipment.

I mean, I don't really care that much. It would be nice for those to stay on the shelves for people who want to drink them, but whatever...that's how capitalism works and I don't waste much of my time worrying about things I can't change.

However, I just think it looks incredibly silly to be posing in photos w/ your "prize haul" that you are inevitably going to sell the majority of on ebay, then posting them on the internet to show off someone else's future bottles. That's just me though. If that's what you enjoy doing...have at it then I guess.

I don't plan to sell anywhere near all of them. in fact, at the prices I listed, I don't plan to sell any of them but i wouldn't say no if someone was willing to pay that.

Not a bad day for a noob like me

Just for the record, I plan on drinking every last drop of this bourbon.

The first Pappy bottle will go quick. Second will go slowly. The last one I'll save for The Rapture.

So 3 bottles of Pappy in 3 days?....talk about an everyday pour. You are going to wake up quite sad on Sunday when you realize all your Pappy is gone in 3 days, not to mention the nasty hangover you will have.

Agree - and speaking as someone who has to sit on an allocation list or enter a lottery just to have an opportunity to buy a single bottle of PVW or BTAC, which, apparently are easily found "sitting on shelves" in other parts of the country, perhaps the Van Winkles and those at BT can take a look at how they are allocating their limited production.

The three-tiered system is bad enough - no way I'll support a fourth tier.
