Years from now, I'll tell my grandchildren, while they are reading the 100th edition of What Are You Drinking This Moment, that it all started on a whim, because I had nothing better to say that night I sat down at SB.com back in summer '02. grin.gif

You's da man, CL. Makes me ashamed that I'm drinking a Foreign Whisky right now. crazy.gif

I'll get back on track tomorrow; I promise.

BTW, in any "Longest Thread" competition, it's clear to me that you are entitled to add the results of all iterations of this thread. It's not your fault some of us have a crappy connection. grin.gif

Yours truly,

We don't want to make the dial-up people wait so long for the thread to load. After all, it's a "what I am drinking" and what you is drinking might cause you to fall asleep while the thread is loading. smirk.gif

Come on fellas, live life in the fast lane. Go broadband! Nothing beats a good bourbon and a fast connection!

Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Needed a full-bodied bourbon for my Hemingway and this fit the bill perfectly. Lots of tobacco and black tea notes with just a hint of clover honey. Wild Turkey is what all other distilleries dream of becoming!

I ought to get a little of the credit, as I'm sure I have posted about 500 of the total posts of these threads grin.gif

Yes, you do deserve lots of credit. I only did the first post. The Bourbonian community did the rest, though, some more than others. wink.gif Here's to you!

I do. And I'd go crazy without it. I even bought it for my parents since I started going there once a month. Mom is amazed how quickly I can find stuff and get answers.

But, my hat's off to those that still have dial-up. I wish I had their patience and tolerance. If I did, I'd have less stress and would hang around on earth a few more years as a result.

You're not kidding! I could never imagine going back to dial-up after switching some time ago. I was at my cousins the other night and they have dial-up (And to make it even worse, AOL! crazy.gif ). I was ready to go insane waiting for pages to load...

At the rate we are going we might make the 100th edition by THIS years bourbon festival. What can I say, we really like to talk about our booze! grin.gif

PS Jeff, you are just gonna have to wait for the tasting to hear my verdict. No hints now. . . .okay one, it is better than WT 101, thats for sure wink.gifwink.gif .

In my case it is either getting broadband OR getting the good bourbon, and I think I have made the right choice (with my 56K) grin.gif got to have the priorities in order. . . .I think that having the good bourbon around might be the largest factor in helping my patience out, BTW. . . .

Four Roses Yellow Label. Kind of on the light side for me, but Stacy not being as big a bourbon fan as I likes it. It is nice for a change though. Now I just wish it were available here in the NE so I wouldn't have to grab so many when I visit KY for her. wink.gif

Now their Super Premium, that I would love to see for sale here in the states...

I here ya. My broadband ($50/month) is paid for my company smile.gif so I can work at home. frown.gif And I kind of misled you on my parents' broadband. It's only $25/month extra over their normal cable bill and we are splitting it among 6 kids. But, it WAS my idea. blush.gif

Buffalo Trace, courtesy of my Mom who picked up some for me in KY in Jan. I finished off the old 1.75L and cracked open a new one. smirk.gif She loves me. laugh.gif

I hadn't planned on imbibing tonight, but after softball practice I needed it. confused.gif No, it wasn't stressful, but it was only my third practice after not playing for 7 years. The main thing was that I felt my timing coming back and I dove for two catches tonight. crazy.gif Yep, I caught them both. smile.gif I played left field, so these dives are after a frantic run forward to get to the quickly sinking line drives. No injuries smile.gif but I sure am feeling it in my muscles.

Besides, rolling the odometer the second time on this thread is cause for a celebration, not because I lucked into the original idea, but because this thread gives us all a chance to let relax and just comment on what our drink for the night it. No formal tasting notes, no deep thought, just heart felt commentary. Who can argue with that?

Corner Creek. I don't understand this bourbon. It tastes like wheat! And I don't mean it tastes like a wheated bourbon, I mean it tastes like someone ground up some wheat and stuffed it into a bottle. I can't decide whether it's "interesting" or disgusting. It's weird. When I finish this glass, I'm moving on to Rare Breed to wash this taste away!

That's why I figured on getting the broadband as well... $20 a month for dial-up or $25 a month added on top of my cable bill... Easy to figure that one out.

See, sorry to ruin the reasoning guys, but I chose to get my dial up modem INSTEAD or getting cable. . . .LOL.

There isn't a StraightBourbon TV channel, so I think I made the right choice. . .

LOL

Ready to take my first trip out to the new deck. TREX. Very cool. I have a bottle of Blanton's and a brand new Adirondack chair. Life is good.

(My contractor thought it was funny to hand my wife an invoice for $26K for the work yesterday. April Fools. She didn't even flinch. She handed it to me when I got home and said he wants the check tomorrow. I just about passed out. She said,"We did add a few things", Very Funny)

I finished off my Elija Craig 12 year old, and I just had my first taste of Woodford Reserve. And I have a bottle of Blanton's that's just waiting to be cracked open for a special occasion. Like a Thursday. grin.gif

Definitely a good thing there isn't an SBTV. We are a fine bunch of folks here, fun to be with, etc., but I don't think I'd want to look at our faces all the time. wink.gif
