A case of OGD BIB 8 years old liters. Dated Spring 1983

Several bottles of I. W. Harper Gold Medal with tax stamp.

A bottle of Old Taylor from 1978 with a funny shaped bottle.

Two handles of Benchmark with tax stamps.

Four pints of AA 10 year with tax stamps.

I have never tried I. W. Harper but this says 4 years old and not much else.

For anyone in Texas the Spec's 8 year Willet bottled at barrel strength is pretty good juice. A bit expensive at $90 bottle but the barrel only made 174 bottles and I have killed 3 of them.

174 bottles at barrel strength is actually a pretty fat barrel. We picked an 8yr Willett barrel and it yielded somewhere in the 125 bottle range. You're right though...$90 is VERY steep for that bottling.

I picked up a WTKS Smooth Brown Top from 2004 for another member today...

For what its worth I was doing a barrel strength tasting with friends and between the 2010 Handy, 2010 WLW and this 8 yr old Willet everyone thought the Willet was the best of the bunch. For me they all have something to offer and I would be hard pressed to rank them as I find all 3 exceptional.

My most recent haul was 4 CNB OWA #49 and 1 AAA Ten Year.

It's only my second try on the AAA as the first bottle I bought of it years ago was a store selection that was awful and completely turned me off of the stuff. With some prompting I'm trying again. Right out of the Bottle it seems pleasant enough. I'll have to see what happens with a little more air.

Went on the Koval Distillery tour and tasting yesterday afternoon. Picked up one of the fewer than 200 375ml bottles they produced of Lions Pride 47th Ward Blend whiskey, their first multi-grain whiskey (and their first to use barley and exceed 80 proof), to add to the Wheat and Dark Rye I already had.

Not everyday pours by any stretch, but some interesting ones to be sure.

They've just added a new 2000 liter pot still that will go into production soon, hopefully allowing them to expand their sales territory.

Went down to Cincinnati today to see Cueto pitch an absolute gem of a ballgame. Stopped by Party Source while in the 'nati and picked up Angel's Envy, Weller 12 year and the Willett TPs private barrel 5 year.

Bought a couple of bottles of EW white while in Va. Also wanted to get some Early Times 354 bourbon to compare to an early 80's bottle I have but only found minis of it. If it isn't that big of deal, I won't be out the price of a 750!

Stocked up on some WSR today - they were being sold for $9.99/750ml, so I bought six of them. I usually find them for $19.99/750ml here in Atlanta.

I think that WSR is a very good standard pour, and it's a steal at that price!
