Josh
OF Signature doesn't taste liek formaldehyde, it tastes like ass.At a tastinga few years back, compared to the other whiskies, it just tasted plain ol' crappy!I love it. It's sweet and spicy. If it tastes like ass, it's Sofia Vegara's ass.
EW Slurps
Just opened a bottle of Eagle Rare 10 Year 90 proofMust have been from a good barrel. This bottle has much more weight and a Ton of flavor with a very long finish. Now I have to see if I can find some of this .Regards.Mike:grin:Had the same experience myself. I have always liked ER, but my most recent bottle is superb (and only $21!)
T Comp
Well, this is more what I tried but didn't enjoy - opened an OF Signature a week ago and have been sampling it since then. It tastes just awful to me, like formaldehyde. I'm around formaldehyde a lot, so maybe I'm just sensitive to the smell, but I'm not liking this one at all.I completely agree and, like you, I spend a significant amount of time around formaldehyde. It's amazing how sensitive you become to it after a lot of exposure and I'm not all surprised that most people don't pick up on this.OF Signature doesn't taste liek formaldehyde, it tastes like ass.At a tastinga few years back, compared to the other whiskies, it just tasted plain ol' crappy!I love it. Bourbon has its formaldehyde/acetone...but...we still have a leg up with tommyboy and Josh  .
dohidied
Enjoying some SB Blend. Very nice. I just vatted it yesterday, so I look forward to this opening up.

Bourbon has its formaldehyde/acetone...but...we still have a leg up with tommyboy and Josh  .Next time my wife makes something sweet and spicy, I'll tell her it tastes like Sofia Vergera's ass, and we'll see how it goes. If I survive, I'll report back on whether she took it as a desirable flavor.
BFerguson
Some Handy 11 with a touch of water. Helping me to plan some shopping in the cities this friday. Taking the day off, and going to hit some new places I haven't been to yet. Going to be a good day to the end of the week.B
fishnbowljoe
Wednesday means bowling night. Weller 12, and two vattings. Gary brought a vatting of Weller 12 and OWA. I brought a vatting of OWA and Weller SR. All good, and all different. I think the Weller 12 may have won out as far as hitting the spot tonight though. Cheers!

Love the vat, but will be heading down to TPS to get each a bottle of each to drink by itself as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

DaveOfAtl
After a Highland Park 12, I got a sweet tooth, so I'm having a 2008 WLW with a few drops of water. Can't get over how much I love this one.
smokinjoe
Finishing the evening with a PHC Cask Strength 122.6. All of the releases in this series have really been stellar. And, it just depends on the day of the week, on which of the releases I think is their best.

I too started with a HP 12 and finished with a mingling of a Binny's Weller 12 (really 14) with a single barrel of OWA... which tasted like a WLW. Bourbon Cowboy
One glass of Garrison Brothers Texas Bourbon, young but still a very deep sipper. It tastes "corny" in a good way. And I like to support the little guys. For these Texas "2 year" bourbons I prefer Garrisons to the Ranger .36. Then, finishing off with glass of Four Roses small batch. This one always seems to reveal something different and sometimes (like.tonight) it hits the perfect sweet spot.

Funny -- the tagline of their ad campaign is "Makers Mark: It Is What It Isn't." Can it be good for what it is and be what it isn't at the same time? Can it be good for what it is and be what it isn't at the same time? Only if what it isn't is truly no good... Among a host of other beverages at a scotch tasting last night, I had the treat of a sublime taste from a 70's era WT decanter - 8 years, 101pf. My god, man. My god! It's the dustiest WT I've had the pleasure of, and it was just astonishing stuff; a perfect balance of creamy caramel entry rounded with a dash of salt, with a spiced jolly rancher kick that explodes on the palate and leaves a spicy, bracing yet mellow finish. I think it's that spicy jolly rancher that reminded me of 4R, but this WT evolved in the mouth more dramatically than 4R usually does. Me want more. But in a glass bottle.
