Lucky square on a super bowl board lead to a clean out on Tower liquors. Took the last Parker cognac, the last 2 handles of weller 7 special reserve and a OWA for good measure.

Was out and about today, and picked up a 2011 WLW, 4 200mls of 7yr Evan Williams Black Label (2 @90 proof), and one of the great WTF bourbons of all time, Jacob's Well.

Question.. came across some 10 yr Single Barrel Michter's for $49. Cheapeast I have ever seen it for. Can't find much info on it (I know it's not actual Mitchter's whiskey).

any opinions on whether it's worth the price tag?

Ended up having some time before a meeting and popped into a local. I walked away with another JPS18, I already have 3. This was an Impulse buy almost exclusively due to the SW provenance. Man this is an addictive Collection/Hobby/Habbit (or whatever the hell we tell ourselves to justify it).

I had a friend over last weekend and was pouring some decent drams to celebrate the birth of my little boy (2 weeks old). He says "I thought I had a lot of alcohol but, you have a ton. You must have over a $1,000 in bottles here" A little embarassed, I chuckled and said "Ya something like that" and then thought to myself "hell there is over a $1000 on that one shelf" What a slippery slope we are on.

I picked up a Woodford Reserve Master's Collection 1838 Sweet Mash and a Maker's 46 today. I'm not sure what to expect out of the Sweet Mash due to all the mixed reviews, but I couldn't pass it up since I had never seen one before.

Good on you for damning the reviews, and taking the plunge. :toast: Never mind any review. It's all about your own experiences here. Heck, you may hate it, but at least, you did it.

Cheers!

Decided to finally try the one that started all the high priced madness. Blantons. Have to say this one was worth the money.

Picked up some Black Bush too.

Picked up a Knob Creek SB, Bulleit Rye, and found a stash of EWSB 2000. Gonna pick off as many of those as I can in the coming days/weeks, however long they last.

Major score for me this week!

First picked up a Taylor tornado bourbon, Jeff 18, and a PHC cognac

Then yesterday scored 8 bottles of PHC cognac at a store that had 3 on the shelf! Then I asked what they had in the back. Bingo!

I happened to come across Knob Creek single barrel 120 proof for $33. Usually it's about $10 more. It should be interesting. Also picked up a Sazerac Rye. That one has not been too easy to find lately. The clerk told me they get two a week, and usually "a guy comes". I guess I was luckey.

OK, I've been posting in this thread too often lately. I'll have to slow down eventually, but not today. I came home with a Vintage Bourbon 17yr from KBD and a Jefferson's Reserve.

As I told my wife, the bourbon is not the addiction. It's the hunt.

I will have to use that story for my wife as well.
