BillP
Do you ever leave just one small drink in several bottles??? So tonight it was "get rid of your bottles " night. Finished OGD 100 and Woodford Reserves (Christmas present). Now I have room to add a few more.Bill
Fpst
Finished off my second bottle of 1792. I really enjoy this stuff for about $20 a bottle.
hectic1
Killed off a bottle of OF Bonded DSP 414 from 1984 the other night...there is something about this bourbon that I just don't care for. I feel a lot better about leaving so much of it on the shelves over the years!
Phil T
Finished some OFBB 2008. It's a shame the 2009 almost soured me on the Birthday Bourbon. Will need to knock out some 2011 next.I was disappointed in the '09 as well. On the other hand, the '08 and '11 are very good
JayMonster
After trying straight, with ice, in coke, ginger ale, splash of water and cooking with it, I finally gave up and poured the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black down the drain. Just glad it was cheap, because I have had nothing that was as bad as that swill. Life is too short to drink crap like that... No matter how cheap it is. BFerguson
Blantons tonight. Not the best bottle that I've had of it, but solid. B
Flyfish
OGD 114. Luscious. Fortunately, there is more. And here's a trivia question for Chuck Cowdery or anyone who might know: The picture of the gentleman on the label--is that the real Basil Hayden or just a generic "old grand dad"? Flyfish
WTRB finished. Enjoyed it with some WT 101. Ordinarily I would have said that 101 was just as pleasant as the Rare Breed but today the RB surely tasted better. Lovely caramel and citrus notes and a nice, long finish. My wife, tasting blind, said the RB was lower proof than the 101. Not so. It is just a little less rough around the edges. Both offer a great deal to like. Half the handle of WT 101 is left. Guess I'll have to get some more RB so we can continue comparing.
yountvillewjs
Willett 3 yr Rye - gone. Not as interesting as others have been, but improved in the bottle. Will open a 5 year next.
Tico
Finished a bottled VW Lot B 12yr last night. I really liked it and the bottle didn't last long in my liquor cabinet. Since its pretty much Weller 12, it's amazing what barrel selection can do as its so different from Weller 12. This bottle was fabulous, the Van Winkles sure know how to pick the best barrels! Josh
Several bit the dust in the past week. Four Roses Ltd. Ed. Single Barrel 2009, TPS Buffalo Trace (started well, but that bottle didn't finish strong) and Col. EH Taylor Old Fashioned Sour Mash (1st ed.). unclebunk
So long to Famous Grouse 12 and Old Potrero Rye (90 proof). Will be replacing the latter soon!
Young Blacksmith
Killed a DSP-KY-31 distilled and bottled JW Dant. very minty, almost undrinkable, but mixed with ginger ale just fine. Also a Walker's DeLuxe from the early 80's. Neither will be replaced. Just too much good stuff out there right now.
Flyfish
Today it was Weller 12 YO. There's something about the end of the bottle that makes me go all nostalgic. As always, I cry at the end of ol' Weller.
fishnbowljoe
In the last two + weeks, I finished off a number of bottles I had open. All good ones too. :frown: Gone, but not forgotten are; ORVW 10/90, ER 101, Weller Centennial, AA BIB, EW BIB, and a private bottling of ERSB. I now have some room on my open shelf. It might just be time to open a couple more bottles. Cheers! Joe

bigtoys
as you can see, there's barely any left and I finished it off during the show and switched to 4R yellow label with the screw top--very mild
Clavius
Well this is the last of the two bottles I acquired of the 2011 WLW. It's right there tied with PVW20 as my favorite bourbon of all time. Sorry to see it go but the stuff is made to be drunk IMHO, not to sit on a shelf forever. Now to find a way to get out the little remaining bourbon without all the barrel char! Young Blacksmith
Yup, drink that up! It'll help clean your guts and your digestion too. In a good way! Folks take powdered charcoal tablets in daily doses for a variety of problems. With comments like yours I may have to break down and pick one up. I know of a few hanging around....
JayMonster
Finally said good-bye to that JBB 7/90 I picked up. It taught me that older does not guarantee better. Sure it was a little stronger than today's version, but everything else about this version seemed like an early experimentation. This will be replaced... But with the newer version.
