Said goodbye to a bottle of JW Dant BIB (early 80's vintage) Saturday night that I really enjoyed. Some of my friends found it too astringent but I thought it was mighty fine.

I recently said goodbye to a bottle of FrankenWeller. It was a vatting of old-label OWA, Weller 12, and WLW 2010. I really liked it a lot and wish I'd paid more attention to the ratios of each Weller as I combined them. Oh well, next time.

I've taken a Weller 12 liter bottle with about 375ml remaining and added roughly 375ml of OWA and 250ml of WLW 2009 (worked out to about 107 proof). If I had enough 12 left I'd do it again.

Finished off my bottles of Basil Hayden's and Blanton's with a buddy over the weekend. Can't say I'll buy another Basil's for the price but I'll have to get a fresh Blanton's soon for my shelf.

Anyone know who sells the OWA in handles in the Atlanta area? Plenty of WSR in handles, but I haven't seen any OWA.

How long did that last you? Mine has been open for a week or two, and it's still pretty stiff. I'm waiting for it to open up a bit, but it may just be that it hits a 4R profile that I like less. It's still gorgeous, but definitely flatter (so far) than the 2011 LESmB and LE1B. It reminds me more of the 2010 LESmB.

I finally poured the last of a '99 EWSB Binny's barrel. Drinking it as I post. Not a fan of this. I'll give it credit for covering a fair amount of ground with a sweet entry, mild palate and bitter/grassy finish, but it's the finish that really turns me off. Easy enough to drink at 86.6pf, but this bottle alone made me run through 2 bottles of the PHC cognac; after a few bites of this stuff, the PHC echoes the profile, but expresses it majestically.

I also kicked a CEHT1B last night. Good stuff, but I say that sarcastically. It was good stuff when it was ER1B and cost $30. For $75, mild and inoffensive is not what I'm looking for.

I was sad to see a WSR 7/90 Lville liter go away. Luckily it was one of four I found, and for $20 a pop, I'm keenly on the lookout for more!
