I finally found something worhy of posting here. Among others I passed on a PVW 23 $499

JPS18 $126

Woodford Rye $79...of course they sepaated the new and old, so that is $160 set.

Ritt 21... didn't even ask.

I think anyone in the DC area can guess where I was.

Hmm...I think I would have done the same, but would have been tempted, considering the only place I've seen it available it was $500.

My advice is if you want it, don't delay. I can guarantee people are already calling around looking for that bottle so they can list it on a big auction site.

I know this has been brought up before, but I would like to start the official petition. Can we make this thread available only to members with 10+ posts?

I am hearing too many stories of bottles that had been in a location for months suddenly being scooped up by lurkers/auction flippers within days of being posted here. Another generous member let two of us, and only two, know where a couple bottles were via PM after they ran into them, passed, and posted here. Those bottles were long gone before we could get to them, this is after having been at that location for months. The 10+ posts would keep people from registering and viewing this thread without at least introducing themselves.

Agreed. I've read multiple posts over time where somebody has mentioned where something was, and the next posted comments how it's probably going to be gone within the day.

It would be nice to have this in the members only area.

Sigh, thanks for the advice. Since Reid, Emerald, and at least two other SB.com members I know ALL HIT DC LAST WEEKEND, I figured everyone was just passing it up at $200. I really hope it is still there on Tuesday. If it's not, oh well. I'm still not buying it at that price, so I'll leave it again unless I can talk the guy down.

Was dusty hunting in San Juan, Puerto Rico and passed on the following:

Weller Centennial (Louisville): $32

Old Weller Antique 107 (Louisville) 1.75 mL: $40

Wild Turkey 12 (split label): $28

Wild Turkey Russell's Reserve 10 yr (101 proof): $25

Parker's Heritage Cask Strength (1st Ed.): $65

A.H Hirsch 20 year (blue wax): $110

I was pretty close to pouncing on a few, but decided to spend the money getting my hair braided instead. Mistake? Oh well. Might go back some time next year and see if they're still there. It's a fairly small city, so I think my odds are good.

Passed up a Cognac PHC for $89. Georgia is weird, some whiskies cheap - I bought two WSR7s for $9.99, but most of the higher end whiskies are high priced.

I would have passed as well. The cognac PHC is my least favorite in the series to date.

The Lot B is a tad high, but the prices on PVW 20 and 23 are what I've been seeing everywhere the last couple months, even at chain stores that have consistent markups.

Passed up 4 different bottles of some old looking Beam 'duck' series. Not sure how old they were, but they were stated to be a set of three. I took the bottles out of the boxes and the juice looked 1/4 evaporated, with one bottle looking quite nasty. Each were $30. Not sure what era these were from, but appeared to be mid eighties. Any additional info would be great.

Also passed on a Hancock's Single barrel. It came in its own oval wooden, or more like bamboo, box. I think it was $40?

Should I go back for these guys?

Passed up on Hudson Baby Bourbon. Bit more than I would wanna pay.

Smart move IMHO. I bought one a few months back to give it a try. It is still sitting open in my cabinet. Definitely not worth the money.
