fishnbowljoe
Couldn't agree more. Where are people finding all the BTAC? I know there was some Van Winkle released in the past month...but I haven't heard anything about a recent release of BTAC? There was a recent spring release of the Van Winkle bottlings. It probably has arrived in most areas by now. Any BTAC found on shelves at this point is from last years fall release, or earlier releases. If bottles from last falls (or other) BTAC release have recently appeared in stores, it is probably due to a distributor sitting on them, or stuff being "lost" in their warehouse. It has been known to happen. :skep: FWIW, some distributors here, and elsewhere I assume, sit on product sometimes. They wait and see what happens, then they'll dole a few more bottles out if and when they can. That is if they don't forget about them. :shithappens: They also hold some stores hostage. The small individually owned stores are a bit more at the mercy of the distributors and sales people. Larger chain stores don't seem to suffer with this problem as much. This problem, especially with BT, has become more apparent recently. A few months ago, Sazerac "let go" a number of sales people who had been with them a long time, and hired new sales reps. Sad to say, but things just ain't been the same since.

peterlake
WTAS for $150, is it worth it? I really like the WTKS I have from '01, but the AS would have to be some next level juice for me to pony that kind of dough.

At $80 to $90 it would be in my bag and I have some in the bunker.

Ejmharris
Strolling through Gatlinburg for quick stop, found 2 WTAS one at $99 and one at $119. Passed on both. Also found PHC Wheated at $89. Tried to talk clerk lower on the PHC but no luck. Good thing I have two in reserves. If time and family allows I may go back and try to work out a deal for both the WTAS and PHC. BarrelChar
Had a moment with the Jefferson 18 (Batch 10) in my hand. It's $71 for one, $65 if you buy two. Ended up putting it back on the shelf. Given the mixed reviews of this whiskey, I'll wait to split a bottle with someone else. Also passed on Handy for $62, Taylor Tornado for $63, Four Roses SB LE 2011 for $80, and 2011 Eagle Rare 17 for $80.
