Just saw this from Heaven Hill...

New this week. 2nd Edition 2012 William Heavenhill, only 113 bottles in existance, all individually numbered. We are taking orders and the bottle will be available for collection in the next two weeks. $350.00 for this barrel strength , 127.6 proof 13 year old Bourbon. It is delicious!

It oughta be delicious. But I'm going to pass.

BTW, what was list on the first one, $500?

Grabbed some wine that the vintage has all but dried up, but I'm kind of regretting not grabbing a bottle of the bourbon as well. They had several bottles, so I'm hopeful that they might have some left the next time I drop in.

Dickel Barrel Select at $37.49 advertised as a new store item. I have to go back to the store though because I swear the bottle said it was barreled in 2006 making it only 6 years old but Dickel/Diageo claims on its web site it is 10 to 12 years old. At 86 proof it's still a pass even if it's 10 years old, at that price. This particular 4 chain store in the suburban Chicago area also had handles of Dickel 12 and EC 12 which I had never seen before in Chicagoland.

I think the consensus is the they all say bottled in 2006. Whether that is true, is up for guess.

The last ones that I have seen, and purchased, have had the 06 date.

Maybe Chuck can get the stop in this for us. :grin:

I agree with Phil about it being good juice. If it was priced well and you like rye, you might think about grabbing it - that stuff is not being bottled anymore.

I passed up both Jefferson's Presidential Select 17 & 18. The 17 was more $$$ at $89.99 and the 18 was $79.99 which was funny to me. Which one do you guys like better?

$85 is about average. If rye is not your favorite though, why buy such an expensive bottle? I say pass - the HW 16 has a very strong rye flavor due to the mash bill, meaning your money is probably better spent elsewhere.

Or get a bottle of the Willett 5yo rye at 110 proof and single barrel for under $40, it's a great pour.

Passed on Woodford Reserve Master Collection Rye Set. It was "on sale" for $120 which just seemed ridiculous to me.

Vintage 23 Rye

Several Willett up to 18 or so

Then I saw the pricetags and put them all back. About 50-100% too high.
