My liver got a much needed rest over the last two weeks, because (drumroll) .... it's a boy! My second son (third child) was born on 12/29. I had some Pappy 15 to celebrate once we got home from the hospital. With much less fanfare, I followed that up with the flu last weekend, so I'm just getting back into drinking shape. Had a little EWSB 2000 to ease back in last night. It's amazing how quickly my EWSB bottles disappear.

Cheers!

PHC 2012, this is one of the top 3 bourbons of 2012. Not that their was a lot of great bourbons this past year.

WLW Special Reserve. Doing some good damage to a handle I bought from TPS during their Cyber Monday, $15 flat shipping promotion.

We have a small staff and will occasionally end a long week with some bourbon.

Wish I could do the same ... problem is getting home to the suburbs 24 miles away.

Starting with some Buffalo Trace, then some ER 17, then it's time to put the finishing touches on some Lot "B".

Now a Four Roses Single Barrel w/ a splash of cold filtered water. Not as delicate as the small batch, IMO, a bit more oak and spice.

The newest Evan Williams SB-2003 vintage. A Binny's pick and this is barrel 7, barreled on 4/1/03 and bottled on 11/28/12. A really good sugar and maple nose. Some berry fruit (versus the EC 12 stone fruit) but HH mint/eucalyptus starts to overpower it after tasting for awhile. These barrels are from the 4th floor of the rick house across the street from the visitor center, per HH.

W.L. Weller Special Reserve. My wife and I each had a couple of pours mixed with club soda while watching the second half of the Packers-49ers game. She's done for the night; I'm planning my next pour.

PHC 2012 - Devil's Batch (66.6% ABV)

My batch 1 isn't here for me to do a side-by-side, but I like this better for whatever reason.

Last night fishnbowljoe, Wainwright and their wives were over for dinner. Joe brought Weller Centennial and ER101, Ryan some 2012 FR SmB LE (the darkside was visited as well, Balvenie Portwood 21yr, Old Pulteney 21 and Lag 16. Joe even like the Balvenie and OP ). All excellent pours. Thanks guys!

Light and easy with some Jailers Tennessee Whiskey that was gifted to me not long ago. Not bad when you want an easy sipper while watching football.
