Think I'll pour some more 4RSmB... at first I wasn't too impressed, but the mix of fruit and wood is starting to grow on me.

Weller 12 and I still don't like it after at least 3 pours on different days. It tastes nothing like bourbon to me. It's more like a blended scotch that's woody/smoky. Did I get a bad bottle, or is it that many of you drink scotch and It's familiar taste to you? Out of the 6-7 bourbons I have on hand this is by far the odd man (out.)

Doesn't taste much like scotch to me - try blending it in a 1:1 ratio with OWA

Sounds pretty good since I do like OWA. I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

I actually said the same thing (tasting like scotch), as it's my first time trying W12... a little thin as well. Can't wait to try the SB Blend once I get some OWA on hand again.

After my initial post this evening, I decided to finally pop in "Lawless" --- Damn good movie about moon-shining back in prohibition. Followed up my initial 4RSmB with OGD114 and a couple chocolate peanut butter balls... and goddamn if the OGD114 didn't impress me more then the 4R, at nearly $10 cheaper to boot! Gotta love the OGD114!

Going to start off with some ETL and we'll see where it goes...

The other night I had some Buffalo Trace and it was like sweet butter. Very smooth.

Four Roses Small Batch

Paired w/ a very nice Brazilian and Guatemalan blend of decaffeinated coffees.

Abraham Bowman, Special Release - Port Finished Bourbon. Good God, this is amazing stuff. Cocoa, deep fruit and the whisper of port, all working in perfect harmony for a delicious pour.

Finishing off the night with a pour of Dry Fly Wheat and my first pour of Weller SR. Quite a good pour, I think I am starting to like wheaters very much.

I'll be having a Barton based cocktail with lunch. Haven't quite decided on the mix, planning is part of the fun.

Would love to find a way to track down a bottle of that without having to travel to Virginia or go through the tortures of the damned. Unfortunately I can't come up with another option at the moment.

Squire, you are an OGD drinkn' fool! Had the Rittenhouse BIB last night. Not bad, I think I like rye better in my bourbon. I could see how it would make some tasty cocktails.

After a rye to start, it's been a barrel proof kinda night with a PHC 2012 and a CEHT Barrel Proof to finish.
