hn4bourbon
Had a couple pours of ETL last night and the night before. Finished last night with a pour of FRSmBLE2013. I don't know...I might actually prefer the 2012 over the 2013. Will have to investigate more.
393foureyedfox
celebrated an anniversary with my wife last night at one of our favorite upscale places. I ordered a flight of bourbons.....my favorite, Bookers, plus two ive wanted to try - Ezra B 12 year, and Noah's Mill.Tell me what you guys think of my interpretation here: I thought the Noahs and Ezra tasted like different proofs of the same exact whiskey. Then, realizing they are both sourced whiskeys, I figured they likely came from the same distillery originally. And since it is generally assumed Ezra is sourced from HH, maybe KBD got this Noahs from HH too. Any ideas?I have to say, i didnt really like either. The aftertaste wasnt pleasant. Then I went for the Bookers and realized why I like it so much. Sweet, hot, balanced well without too much woodiness, not tannic, and no lingering aftertaste that makes me want to reach for the glass of water....just drink it and enjoy.Im interested to see what you guys think on the noahs/ezra idea. I could be way off, but its what I came to last night.
Phil T
.Im interested to see what you guys think on the noahs/ezra idea. I could be way off, but its what I came to last night.Although I've not had Noahs, I have had quite a few of the EBSB 12yrs. The ones I've had range from very good to exceptional. It is generally accepted that the EB is HH.From some of the posts I've seen of yours, you have strong opinions of what you like and don't like. It seems you loves you some Beam products, nothing wrong with only drinking what you know you like.

Grain Belt
Last night I cracked a PHC Golden 100 proof. It was as good if not better than what I have read. I will be savoring this bottle.

Tucker
Liquor Barn selection FRSB, bottled June 2013. Right now it's about in the middle of all the store selection FRSB I've had...which means it's pretty tasty.

theglobalguy
PHC 7th, little better the second time around. Still hot though. And also a small pour of EWSB store pick, ridiculously good. If only they could hit this profile every time i'd have cases of the stuff from every stop i make.
393foureyedfox
.From some of the posts I've seen of yours, you have strong opinions of what you like and don't like. It seems you loves you some Beam products, nothing wrong with only drinking what you know you like.i have my opinions, sure. and while I do tend to enjoy Beams upper level stuff more than other distilleries, I am open to them all....given that theyre roughly 100 proof or better. Both the Ezra and the Noahs were fairly well liked on here, so I wanted to try them alongside my regular pour at this restaurant. I know, i am the oddity on here.....there are 10x more bourbons that I dont like than ones I do, but, I enjoy trying new ones just to see.for the flight, i had my choice of 3. obviously, Bookers was gonna be one. The other three considering were Ezra B, Noahs mill, and Russels Reserve. Next time, Ill try the RR. The 'flight' at this place about put me under the table. I expected 3 1/2 sized pours, but got 3 full sized pours, for $15. cant beat that! Edited October 14, 2013 by 393foureyedfox
