393foureyedfox
trying to get rid of a Ritt BIB, just not too enjoyable to me. Yeti, you remind me that i need to pick up another OGD 114. its been a few months since ive had one, i keep trying new stuff instead (none of which has been even half as enjoyable as a 114). Tony Santana
Last night I did a 4R SB v. 4R SmB blind testing, and I'm still not sure which one came out on top. Better nose and initial taste for the SB, but the SmB had a nice little mid-palate burst of flavor I really enjoyed. Finish rated about equal. Oh well, may have to try again.Finished it off with some KC and then OWA107.

KySalesRep
Just poured some 200 month old Beam (from a decanter dated 1976), a gift from another very generous SB member! Content to just nose it for the moment, going to savor this one for a while. Thanks again big guy!
MtnDew
Just had a pour of EHT Barrel Proof on the "rocks", though in this case that was a single, spherical ice cube. I'm still trying to figure this bourbon out and whether or not I actually like it. I tried it neat and with a few drops of water the other night and then today on ice and I'm still not sure. The nose is great but after a few sips I start to get a numb mouth and tongue, something I don't get with the 2012 Stagg which is even stronger. I'm just not sure I've found the sweet spot yet. I may let it sit out for a little bit next time to see what air does to it. At this point I'm thinking buying two bottles may have been a mistake, especially at $65. smokinjoe
The ever beguiling Blanton's, in my glass. Everything that goes along with Blanton's; from the price, to the unique bottle shape, to the the horsey stopper, to the squeak of the cork, etc., is an assault on each, and every one, of your senses. Which, can make it difficult to recognize how wonderful a whiskey it actually is. And, it is fabulous whiskey. :yum:

clingman71
JB12, new bottle, first pour. Something slightly strange in the initial aroma, can't quite put my finger on it. With some air time it got a bit more "normal". Tons of oak, not sure what I think of this just yet.
