Seattle area SB meetup tonight saw some great bottles shared and even better conversations! It's always great to meet in person and place names with faces... Barrel_Proof, WadeWood, and Virus-of-Life all made the trek in from out of town, DBM & MtnDew made their first appearance and it was good seeing LostBottle, Nivto, Sgtgto, CaptainQ & everybody else.

So many great pours tonight... I kind of lost count but here's a few that stood out for me:

Big thanks goes out to MichaelTurtle1 for sending out the WT8 101 back with MtnDew - that was my first pour of the night and set things up just right!

Which BMH was that with the green wax next to the Rathskeller??

Heck of a lineup, and goes to show the great generosity of our members.

Question for the Seattle crew- the Delilah's rye, is it a sister bottle to the other KBD bottles-Doug,LaNell etc?

Well after being t-boned by a guy with no license or insurance I skipped the bar... Went home and had a couple pours of Old Grand Dad 114. Looks like ill be fixing the car next week. Crazy thing is he was mad at me for calling it in!

Seeing other SB get-together spreads inspires one to be generous.

Same for me last night. How do you rate it?

I think it was very good. I don't find myself buying a lot in the $33 range, especially this time of year. I see myself getting more for a higher end regular pour, good neat over with some ice.

Sadly, Squire is probably dead nuts right on this.

But even worse, that spring dried up a long time ago, and nothing since as magical has come forth.

Until the day it flows forth once again, we wait patiently, occasionally remembering its legacy via its progeny.

Stagg Jr. Granted I'd rather have his papa, but comparing this to any of the other $50 bottles I have, It is Jr. In a landslide. The only ones that even come close are some of the barrel proof Binny's FR1B selections.

I can't argue with that, but at a ~$5 difference I'd take ECBP over it. (We don't get barrel proof Four Roses here.)

Emptied out my bottle of Jefferson's Reserve last night. The bottle has been opened more than 9 months. I didn't enjoy it when I first opened it but time has improved it tremendously. I like it enough to finish it:) unlike a said pot still bottle that I had recently given away.

Going to enjoy some more SB blend tonight.

ECPB 2nd batch(137). Unlike the 1st which is awesome neat, this one needs a bit of water or as I am doing a giant square cube of ice. IMHO of course. YMMV.

Sun goin' down. Chill in the air. Leaves are starting to pop with color. Great weekend behind me, and now, sittin' out front with the Sheltie, and an HH 6yr BIB straight out of the fridge is in the glass. The word Contentment, comes to mind...

Have you tried BIBs straight from the freezer? I love OGD that way. You get the benefit of a cool slushy without diluting your drink with ice. But, as we approach winter, I tend to prefer my bourbon at ambient temperature beside a nice fire.
