Kalessin
I've been busy for two weeks and haven't been posting. DW and I have been working with an architect trying to shoehorn a half-bath into our kitchen renovation plans. This hasn't stopped my bourbon glass from getting filled, though: OGD114, EWSB vintage 2003, Baby Saz, and some of my diminishing supply of Julio's store-selected ETL that's just delicious. The architect is really great, but I've dubbed the project "The Battle of Inches". sutton
That's sounds like a good blend, wonder how 6 year Barton 86 would do.Good idea ... I had a VOB BiB that I considered as well to blend with the 1792 ... might try that with a spot of water. Something is missing in the mid-palate on this 1792, and the Col.Lee helped but also created a bit of a youngish bite. The VOB might be just what the doctor (or Squire) ordered ...

smokinjoe
Sittin' out front with the Sheltie and an ample pour of GBS ETL, reflecting upon this pedal-to-the-metal week that was, and casually plotting my course for next week. There is something calming, comforting, but with a tinge of quiet anticipation of the week to come, that this semi-ritual evokes. I think it's at these times that I enjoy bourbon the most. Wonderful. Sipping on a RHF's pour right now. Ain't Friday night great.
skidfive
Cracked open the Jim Beam Signature Craft 12.I like it, only 43% but good. sweet on the nose. Definitely taste vanilla, some citrus. and +1 for a screw cap bottle.

Definitely taste vanilla, some citrus. and +1 for a screw cap bottle.I am with you. Sometimes, lower proof bourbons hit the spot. Two of my favorites, AAA10 and OC10 are both 86 proof. Both are screw caps too!
mbroo5880i
Started with a SBS tasting of WSR 7 Year, WL12, OWA. Preferred in that order. Thought tonight would be a wheater night only but then decided on a pour of standard FRSB.
michaelturtle1
Drinking a healthy sample of a Weller 12 that is most likely Bernheim juice, so much different than the current bottling.
smknjoe
Yes it is. Did that get to you by way of Tejas? If so, I've had some of that bottle too. I'd buy W12 all the time if it tasted like that.

Thanks for the reassurance that I wasn't losing my mind thinking this bottling was a notch above the current offering...It is good stuff!! 393foureyedfox
Came home and polished off the rest of the JBB. Glad to see it gone, there won't be another one of those coming home. Bought it to give to my boss for his birthday, but he had quit drinking, so I had to drink it. Had I known that, I wouldve bought 'him' a KCSB..... HighInTheMtns
Two pours of smooth Ambler Scout, the 6 year. Not to shabby, can tell there's a bit of heaven hill in the blend.Don't think so... Hopefully we can get an official confirmation but I believe that's all from DSP-IN-1. If it weren't it would have to be labeled "A Blend of Straight Bourbons." In any case, love the Smooth Amblers I've had and I'm excited to try more in the future.
GaryT
With just a pinch of OGD BIB left (under 1/2 ounce - not sure how THAT happened?), decided to try throwing that in with the morning coffee. I'll be damned - that really does work!
