jwacky
An OESF FRSB private selection to kick things off this evening. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkJust poured a little of an OBSK recipe FRSB private selection to compare head to head. Really enjoy both but the OBSK has been one of my favorite new-to-me bourbons of the past year. Really, really enjoy it. michaelturtle1
pardon my ignorance. But what is the wax topped Elmer T lee? I have only seen and tried the foil top.Older bottling, I think the change over from wax to foil was 2005? I am sure someone else on here knows a whole lot more about them than myself
smknjoe
pardon my ignorance. But what is the wax topped Elmer T lee? I have only seen and tried the foil top.Standard ETL from between 1999 - 2005. It's darker and richer than the current stuff. The current stuff is still one of my favorites though.http://www.straightbourbon.com/forums/showthread.php?4393-Elmer-T-Lee-Single-Barrel&p=47659&viewfull=1#post47659
393foureyedfox
Three quarters of the way through Ezra B SB 12YO and still waiting to be impressed. At this point I would much rather have two bottles of Old Ezra 101.I tried that one night at a nice restaurant with a flight of bourbons. EB12, Noah's Mill, and Booker's (a given...). I swore the EB12 and the Noah's mill had the same source, as they tasted (to me) like two different proof points of the same whiskey, and didn't care for either. I like, but don't love, the Ezra 7/101, but the 12 kinda sucked to me.
whiskeyagonzo
On my 2nd pour of ECBP. At the end of my last pour I used a disposable pipet to add just a few drops of water. It really turned on the after burners for me. So naturally I had another pour to investigate properly. Sleep late, have fun, get wild, drink whiskey and drive fast on empty streets with nothing in mind but falling in love and not getting arrested. Hunter S. dreasoner
Finally opened my EH Taylor barrel proof tonight. Definitely darker color than the Stagg Jr. Neat it seems a little hotter. But a little water and it opens up nicely. Just need to get my hands on a ECBP to compare all three. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
T Comp
paper label SBS with a new bottle.. I think this has officially ruined new Weller 12 forever.. The new bottle is so bitter compared to the paper labelYes indeed Michael...and even as recently as a 2007 bottling in the non paper new bottle (wheat stalks), still far superior to current. I hope I can keep enough in the bottle to bring it to the gazebo in spring so others can experience the difference.
