dreasoner
Getting ready to have 30+ people over for Thanksgiving. Had to open my Blantons barrel select, really smooth straight! Now I'm working on my Stagg Jr, been open for a month and it keeps getting better. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

RVTsteve
Hirsch 25yr. Man, haven't had this in a while. SO full of flavor. Big cinnamon and spice, dark cherries soaked in cognac, tannic wood oak explosion. Long dry finish, probably my least favorite part, but still very interesting and great fun to drink. Conquistador
Henry McKenna BIB, a K&L store selection. Very nice. I enjoy this one more than the off-the-shelf version. Less brine on the back end of the palate, and a little more citrus/orange peel. A lot smoother around the edges, too.
brettckeen
So I got to try one of the greatest bourbons I'd never taste thanks to the generosity of the boss. AH Hirsch 20yr L-Burg Bottling red wax. It's really really good, way more balanced than the 16 gold foil I have had a few times. I could see how one would desire to drink these in large amounts but at the price it fetches these days I don't know if I'd pay it if I had that kind of cash.Closing the night at home with some thanksgiving WT 101 Old number 8. Makes me feel at home even if I can't be home for thanksgiving. WT 8year was the first spirit I ever drank (used to steal pours from my dad's magnum when I was 13) are that taste reminds me of youth and wanting to be a tough guy drinkin bourbon. Cheers to turkey day and drinking turkey!

devillighter
Made some nog last night with the remnants of a long open handle of Knob Creek and cracked a Very Old Barton 86 proof handle to complete the recipe. Poured a healthy amount of VOB into a Glencairn as a nightcap.
JVande
Yeah, I thought the rare breed was solid, but honestly could not tell a huge difference between that and the WT101 No8 brand from '93 that I have open.
DrBob
Took a bottle of temperance trader to share with some friends. I don't think I will be buying produced whiskey blind again. It not that its bad, just overpriced and most of it tastes the same. Going to get my wife to help me tonight. Want to do a blind side by side with a barrel select OWA, Weller 12, and a 50/50 SB blend of the same two bottles, should make for a nice thanksgiving!
