Started with Brau Brothers whiskey aged Belgian ale. Switched to Bourbon... A pour if BMH, WLWSR AND WLW12 50/50, EHTBP , and finished off with the last heavy pour of Stagg Jr. Good night

Settled into a late night vatting of EC12 TPS and ECBP batch 2 (1:1). It's yummy, I should sleep like a baby. But I'm thinking my 5:30 am run will be a bitch

1/2 oz or so of OGD 114, then another 1/2 ounce or so of Dickel 9/103. Both are exceptional sippers! But gotta say, the Dickel wins

ECBP and ECSB13'

This single barrel was super minty, is everything coming out this year from HH 10 years going to be minty?

Ending the night with 4R OBSV Binny's 13' bottling. So good. Really can't stop enjoying this but at 120.4 proof I should slow down.

Having my third cup of coffee with some OFBB13. This is just so sweet. Glad I picked up more than one bottle of this. Of all of the special releases this fall it is my favorite to date. That being said I haven't opened my 4RSmb13LE yet.

I'm glad to see you enjoying Dickel. At one time, I would have doubted you'd ever give it a go!

because of the proof range of regular Dickel products?

Honestly, had I not found a 9 year 103 proof Dickel on the shelf, I may not have ever given it a shot. I LOVE the 9/103 so much that I gave the Dickel 12 90 proofer a shot. The lower proof admittedly doesnt do it any favors, but the same profile from the 103 is still there enough to enjoy it as well....just not as much:yum:

Threw a haphazard vatting together in an empty bottle - something like 60% W12, 30% OWA, 5% WLW12 and 5% WLW13.

After sitting for about 5 hours I poured for the Hokies and Wahoos game. Started out a bit hot, but my palates been weird lately. After 30 minutes it's smoothing out and settling down.

Yes that, and the fact that is isn't a "bourbon". Even at 90 proof, Dickel is a gem in price, quality and flavor! :toast:

When I read about some of these finished whiskys my mind races with the calypso song:

First you take de rum,

and you put it in a barrel mon

Had a nice pour of ORVW 10yr and some doughnuts after lunch as dessert.

Better yet was that my sister picked up the bill, so that made both taste that much sweeter.

To be fair, I did pay for lunch to even things out before hand.

Several small pours (about an ounce each) of Elmer T. Lee, Eagle Rare (Wesport select), John J. Bowman, Larceny and Willett WFE 9. Willett is the best by far. Second would be Bowman. ETL and ER are pretty solid with Larceny bringing up the rear. All taste good.

Finished off my two Party Source FRSB bottles today OESK and OESQ, good stuff. Will have to get more when I head down to the Sampler.

Best regards, Tony

I did a blind flight of W12, OWA, a 60/40 blend and Lot B (2012). Enjoyed them all but the Lot B was deeper, thicker and much more complex. Not really a fair fight. But, they were all good.
