DFW has a pretty cool beer place called Saucers, I think?

The Flying Saucer in Addison - north of Dallas in the Galleria area. Very cool place! Many after work parties there.

Co-sign. Also, it's a small DFW-based chain, founded by Shannon Wynne, iirc, who's developed a number of successful NoTex chains over the decades. The Saucer once had a great outpost near the Ballpark in Arlington, and has a downtown Ft Worth branch, as well, that recently replaced its sibling, 8.0s.

On topic: AAA10Y manhattan, AAA10Y old-fashioned, AAA10Y neat. Now, keeping it in the family, but facing a fork in the road: ETL Birthday or a box of blantons from 99.

I've had some good times at the Flying Saucer in Columbia. Speaking of, celebrating the Gamecocks win with some ER17.

Soaking up a crazy day of college football and some Weller Centennial.

Had my first taste of this stuff (Louisville bottling)on Thursday. I get what the hype is about. I'd try to track some down but as far as whales go its a pretty white one.

I refreshed my current 50:50 SB Blend with some Liquor Barn single barrel OWA. It's now right about where I prefer it...60:40 OWA to W12. If I had an open WLW I'd ramp it up a bit.

A pour of SB blend, then a pour of Weller 12. I then proceeded to make a whole bottle of SB blend by combining my half bottles of OWA and Weller 12 :). Going to let this set for a month or so and revisit it.

Just for a change up I am finishing the night with a stiff pour of Bakers.

I am becoming the 'squire' of Dickel........I'm having Dickel 12 followed by the lovely Dickel 9/103.

I don't even wanna brush my teeth before heading to bed....the taste lingers forever!

I'm not sure that I could sleep with the just chewed taste of Flintstones vitamins hanging around like that.

I moved on from Centennial to a barrel pick of FRSB. I'm like a broken record with this bottle, but Tony, Oscar and Sal picked a gem.

Sitting here at 2am with a pour of ETL. Here's hoping for a visit from the sandwoman.

Hmmm this makes me feel like I'm up late.

Watch Sleepy Hollow, that sandman is good fun.

I don't get the Flintstone vitamin thing....just like I don't get the 'funk' in Beam products. Then again, it's probably been 30 years since I had a Flintstone vitamin, so maybe I just don't remember it readily. If it tastes like Flintstone vitamins, maybe I should start dissolving those in all my bourbons:yum:

Moved on to some True Blue in my coffee. Really different and unique. Seems to bring out a more deeper French roast flavor.

My wife happens to be baking chocolate chip cookies this morning. I'm the taste tester. I was working on the BOTM while she was baking. I had a pour of J.W. Dant BIB as a refresher to help me with the BOTM. Dant BIB and chocolate chip cookies go really well together.

Cheers! Joe

Dickel's yeast strain gives it a unique taste note that not everybody likes. That's not going to change, it's their way and has been since George owned the place.

Yum. I've had those CCC's she bakes. Yummy. While we're here, Joe, think she'd mind whippin' up a batch again for Sampler? :yum:

While not strictly Bourbon, had some EW eggnog in my coffee with breakfast: a healthy slice of homemade pumpkin pie. Gotta love holiday time! :)

Finally getting mostly over this cold. Last night, I had a couple small pours of OFBB13. I can now understand all the great reviews on the nose on this! The nose on this is absolute amazing! The follow up sip to me didn't live up to the nose but it was still good. I don't know if I'll bunker more. I'll have to revisit it tonight to make further determination.
