Finally getting mostly over this cold. Last night, I had a couple small pours of OFBB13. I can now understand all the great reviews on the nose on this! The nose on this is absolute amazing! The follow up sip to me didn't live up to the nose but it was still good. I don't know if I'll bunker more. I'll have to revisit it tonight to make further determination.

I have to say my bottle has been open a few months and it has gotten much better. Might be worth bunkering at least one depending on what you paid for it.

You're probably right. I'll probably bunker at least one more. Paid 52 for me. That's the going price for the 2012 as well.

Well worth the $35 it was going for around here.

At that price, I would definitely add more to the bunker but it's 52 here.

Went out for yet another X-mas tree today,so I rewarded myself with some ND OT and then some EC18 as a nice contrast.

I'm envisioning a Griswold family incident here....first one too tall? busted windows? sappy? squirrel infested? burnt?

I'm no bourbon snob. whiskey is whiskey to me, provided it's aged in new barrels. I've little interest in whiskey aged in a used barrel, as the best part of that barrel has already been used up and is gone. Same with aging in barrels of some other spirit...I dont hear a lot about it to know if I'm in the minority on this as well, but AE rye was, bizarre, to put it lightly. Out of curiosity, I grabbed that first at KBF. bizarre....

I just picked up a bottle of the AE Rye, but have yet to give it a go. Should be interesting...

Had a couple of pours of the SB blend yesterday. Really nice at 50/50.

One a side note, I preferred this years OWA to the W12 in my one and only side by side tasting.

OC10 and now GTS '13 to finish the night. Yep, i realize...sort of random pours in succession.

Revisiting a 2013 Lot B. Newly opened it suffered in comparison to older versions( and even against a W12). But with some airtime it has definitely opened up. Down to half a bottle and it is much less astringent and medicinal. More of the VW carmel vanilla and apple spice notes.

Dickel 14 year old, followed by my very first pour of Saz 18 (the 2013 release). The Dickel is great, but I'm not sure that I prefer it over the 9 year old. I need to do a side by side with those two. The Saz was outstanding - everything I had hoped it would be.

After a long, stressful holiday weekend visiting family I'm unwinding at home with football and some SB Blend, Warehouse Liquors ETL, The Fox, and FR LE SmB '12.

Revisiting the OFBB2013 and I am really enjoying it tonight. I'll have to see if I can find a couple more bottles.

Put another bottle of FRSBLE13 60.4% down. Amazingly good. Top 10 FR for me, which doesn't sound like high praise until you consider the depth of FR.

I ended Turkey Day with a little PVW20 and then spent most of the weekend with a couple of private selections of ETL & EC.

Actually, that's saying a lot coming from you

I've sworn not to open anymore 125th for a while. The bottles just empty themselves so soon

WT Russell's Reserve SmBSB (110 pf) - second pour from this bottle. Have to spend a bit more time with it. A few drops of water brought out some more fruit to balance the spice and it seemed to file off the sharp edge I was getting on entry. A little chocolate in there too I think. Some toasty orange rind with the spice on the finish.

Thanks to our good friend Joe, I'm enjoying a refrigerated HH BIB 6yr. Never had thought of chilling it until I read one of his post. Now its a staple for me. Just thick, chewy, no frills, no BS, solid bourbon. .delicious

OFBB13 just came in the mail and couldn't wait. Really great nose on this one. Can't wait until it's had time breath.
