As far as I'm concerned, WSR is a great value wherever it was distilled. Can't go wrong.

While I do think WSR is a good value, these weren't. ;-) They cost a pretty penny or two. The box they came in was stamped 5/11/99.

Bought some OGD114 for the first time yesterday. Blown away at how good it is. Could easily see this become an everyday pour.

Couldn't agree more.

FedEx man just dropped this off.

It was nice and cold, so we tried it. Quite good.

Maybe should have gotten 2.

Dang Mike, you're on a roll with the OWA, very nice.

Picked up a couple WTRB $27.99, would have bought more if they had more...WFE 10yr., it was only 7 bucks more then the 8yr. so what the hell.

Grabbed an EC12 and while at the store my wife grabbed an Aberlour A'Bunadh and said "do you want an early B-Day present?"

Yes please!

Bought a Willett SB 9 Year, 129.4 proof, distilled in KY. Just tried it and it is solid. I think it will take a little time for me to become better acclimated.

I also bought a WL12. Just adding to the small bunker of WL that I have. I can see this one becoming harder to find as time goes on. Actually, my wife talked me into buying it.

Opened one of the OWA's tonight. Very nice pour for $9 a bottle (375).

Was in wholefoods and saw a bottle of "few" bourbon marked down from $54.99 to $33.99...the sale, plus cool looking bottle and a "don't care" attitude forced me to buy it. Haven't tried it yet...and reviews I've read try to be positive but ultimately seem to point towards a direction if "not quite finished"...we shall see.

If their rye was included in that markdown, I'd pull on that one. I think it's the best in their lineup. With some more age, it's got real potential.

My favorite purchase of the year. Fantastic stuff.

I participated in a Pappy lottery this morning. I counted 21 people who showed up. They sold off a PVW20, PVW15, VWFRR, GTS, 4 bottles of Lot B, 4 bottles of 10 Year and 2 bottles of E.H. Taylor Small Batch. My number was picked fourth so I selected the GTS. I was thrilled by this as you can guess what the first three bottles selected were. They made us pay for our bottles immediately after selecting the bottle. I purchased mine, ran outside to put it in my vehicle and came back in to purchase some more items. When the lottery was finished, everyone cleared out. I was kind of disappointed by this - I thought the least some people could do was make a small purchase to support the store that gave them an even chance at getting a PVW. So I got a mixmatch of some Michigan craft beer (God, I love living within an hour's drive of so many fantastic breweries in Michigan!), a bottle of Buffalo Trace and a store selected bottle of Angel's Envy (my first). When I got to the counter, I talked to the young man about the AE. In short, he explained the process that he and five others at the store went through to get the right blend of different AE barrels. I could tell he was very proud of the final product that they selected. This will be my the next bottle I open.

Stopped in at Shoppers Vineyard, and picked up some wine for my wife, and a BT single barrel and new Dickel 14 Year ($70) for myself.
