Good evening, all

Having a spot of ETL tonight, in anticipation of the 4 bottles that are expected to arrive by Fed Ex tomorrow. Think I can polish off this bottle tonight since it's down to a couple of pours.

Been a rough week at work...just busy. Decided I wanted a pour that was tasty but also that would help erase my memory. Yes, I do drink for more than just the taste. Having a nice pour of BT store select/Stagg Jr. It is a nice and tasty at around 113.5 proof.

I'm sitting back and relaxing with a pour or two of some 1968 Old Crow...
That sounds like a lot o' fun. Tasting history. How is it? I've had some Old Crow I liked and some I didn't, maybe depends more on mood and day rather than bottle? Oldest I remember having was about 1976, and it was good, but that was in 1976 and I wouldn't have known the difference.

I've heard of two guys that only drank Old Crow by preference. One was a judge that could afford anything, the other was a muckydymuck with Va ABC who had access to everything.

Jim Beam Signature Craft 12 years. Put a twist of tangerine peel in the second glass. If you've ever had that really dark chocolate with orange rinds in it. That's what I was getting. Really off set the bitterness I was feeling about of the finally of the series Dexter I was watching.

Just uncorked a store-selected EC12. Straight buttery oak. I could/can/will destroy this bottle.

Got some samples in today from a great SB member and I'm trying them all:

1994 Weller 12 Paper Label- definitely tastes like SW to me. Kind of has the SW "funk" for lack of a better term (it's a good "funk" to me)

Weller 12 with bernheim - very good. Similar profile to what I'm used to but just a better version

SW WSR7 - caramel

I agree, fires and 4R 125 are awesome.

Opened a bottle of Henry McKenna SB, good stuff, tastes like 100 proof EWSB.

Finishing up the last few drops of a Centennial sample I got from a local SBer quite a while back. I'm trying to clear my backlog of samples that need to be polished off. It's a delicious chore to say the least.

I might have to crack open some 4R later.

Four Roses Single Barrel selected for Imperial: Portland. Still undecided on this one. I like it proofed down pretty well but to my tastes it drinks hot. If you go too overboard with water it turns too woodsy, but find the sweet spot and its pretty silky.

Had a pour of 4 roses single barrel private selection OESF. My second pour from the bottle. The first one had a very strong taste of Red man chewing tobacco, which has mellowed a bit but still there in the second pour abut a week later. Followed up with a couple of pours of 1792 8 yr.

Now my FR1B is done, my go to bottle is the ER1B. Love eagle rare but I REALLY need to replace the four roses...

I'm with the in-laws at Mammoth Cave today and it's really cold. Good thing I brought a flask of OWA7 with me.

Michael, the WC is , after much sampling of available and discontinued wheated bourbons, my exemplar of the style in terms of proof and age. If I could get a BT wheated readily available at 10/100(or even 10/107) for around $30 I wouldn't need other choices.

Went home last night and had a healthy pour of EC12, never fails to please. Then tried some Johnny Drum Private Stock, a bottle I bought somewhat on a whim. The first couple times I tried it I was singularly unimpressed and mentally made the "no need to ever buy this again" note. But now the last two times I've really liked it, good mouth feel and sort of a caramel deliciousness. Finished the night off with some RHF.
