Been sick all week, having my first pour since Sunday - EWSB - and goodness, it tastes awful. I find that anytime I take a few days off just about anything I pour tastes like ass. I need to recondition my palate.

What are your thoughts on the '12 versus the '13 (if you've had it). I'm finding the '13 to be a bit hotter than the '12 even with a fair amount of air time.

I thought the '12 was a Top 2 all time pour for me. Big nose, complex palate, and a deep caramel finish that really stuck. I have only had 1 pour from a '13 and it was a pop and pour. It reminded me of the '12 in ways, but still different. To me, it was easier to tell it was 100% BT wheater, whereas the '12 you could have convinced me otherwise. My guess is that the will open up with air time just as my ORVW10 did. First pour was just 'okay', half empty bottle it is a champ!

Still working my bottle of ER10 store selection. Sadly this will hit the bin this weekend, about 1 pour left.

Just opened an Old Fitz BIB DSP 16/24. It's really hitting the spot tonight.

Cheers! Joe

Outstanding! A most enjoyable pour of GBS ETL now pouring VOB 6yr/90...keeping myself warm while keeping the house warm.

Old Fitzgerald BIB from a gallon jug bottled in 1959. So, so good. It has a light ashy earthiness that I haven't tasted in anything else.

And you may not again except by chance. Back in the mid 90s United Distillers (the forerunner of Diageo) put out a Bourbon Heritage Collection from a group of distillerys owned by them at the time. I know, I know, Dickel is not technically a Bourbon but what the hey, that's what they did. This one was bottled as a 10 year old 86 proof expression and has pretty much disappeared with the others from the dusty shelves except for some 50 mil minis that pop up as a set occasionally.

I remember this one as pleasant but not memorable. For me the Dickel profile works better in the 6-8 year range

Wow! I love the wall behind it too! What a cool looking place! I definitely would have to go in with cash only and leave the plastic behind, oh and have a DD or taxi waiting.

Went out to see a couple of bands last night. Had a pour of RHF before leaving the house. Got to the venue and surveyed their selection, Bookers seemed like the best choice so I ordered it neat. Huge pour - the guy finished a bottle, and I thought that was it, but then he went searching for another one and topped it off a bit more. Hadn't had Bookers in a while and it tasted good.

Nursed/sipped that monster pour for a couple of hours at least. I had bought the first round and my buddy, not a bourbon drinker, went to get another when the second band got cooking. I figured I might not be able to safely drive home if they duplicated the first Bookers pour, so I just told him to get me a Jack on the rocks. He comes back with a huge tub full, I thought holy crap, they've done it again. But tasted it and it was Jack and Coke, so not as dangerous as I thought (it was fairly dark, so I couldn't tell until I drank it). I drink whiskey with soda about once a year, not usually my thing, but it went down pretty easy.
