Decompressing with some Lot B after a week of work that I can only describe as having a tooth drilled 8 hours a day for the duration.

Today's UPS delivery is making my decision difficult tonight - VWFRR, WT12 CGF, Saz 18, FR GS, PHC6, AAA 10 year

Hmmmm. I think the Ryes are calling my name...

JVande, most of my Bourbon comes UPS instead of local . You mind sharing the name of your online source store?

Just poured a bit of Larceny and then noticed my open bottle of ETL was down to a pour or two. Must work on that.

I'd guess that was a delivery of samples, or JVande is missing an appendage.

First taste of a Ten High from Peoria, IL. Smooth and creamy with a hint of tobacco and a short, dry oak finish - easy drinking.

Half are samples provided by a fellow member who has become a friend, while the other half are full bottles.

I'm having some samples that arrived yesterday from a SB member:

HHSS

VWFRR

And...

BHC Louisville Centennial. The unicorn found a home.

Saving PHC4 and WLW08 for tomorrow.

Started out with a nice pour of OC10. Working on finishing the bottle. Not going to happen tonight. I was looking for something with a little more spice. Finishing with a pour of WFE 8-Year.

Some EWSB 04. It's grown on me and settled into a very nice caramel sweetness. Not seeing the more robust profile, actually think the 03 is better in that regard, but its a nice pleasant sipper at a good price.

I'm having the same and agree. Unfortunately, at my local store the price has increased sharply with the latest restocking; it now costs a bit more than EC12. An anomaly, or a trend?

Either way makes for a pretty Good Friday evening. I have always wanted to try the WT12 CGF.

EWSB is a few more dollars than EC12 in the Indy area.

I don't know what I am drinking tonight. It was something in a flask that has been hanging around in the cabinet for over a year. It is definitely a rye bourbon or maybe even a lower % rye. Maybe I need to post some tasting notes on the VBT and have someone tell me what it is. :)

Did a Beam 7 year taste-off between Distiller's Select (7/90), Kirkland (7/103), and Baker's (7/107). the Baker's came out on top, but it was closer than it might have been.

My notes can be found here.

Finally home from work settling in with some 2013 GTS. It's been a long week. Couldn't think of a better pour to calm the nerves.

Having some Beam white (yeah, I know) that was a sympathy purchase at a local mom and pop. It's actually not bad. A lot of orangey notes and the funk is not unpleasant.

The funny thing is I tried a bottle of Beam green (5 years, charcoal filtered) and it was really funky and not pleasant. This white label beats that hands down.

Still, it could use 5 more years in the barrel and 20 more degrees of proof.

Trying to kill a bottle of Jefferson's Reserve. This is one I bought as a newbie under the guise that it must be a fine high end bourbon at $55 (before tax). I was wrong. Well, as someone said in another thread, you have to try them for yourself to find out.
