Have to get up super early tomorrow, so a very small pour of EWSB 2002. Still really liking this one.

Tasted some SB Blend variations, only to be quite confused. Bumped my 60/40 against a 65/30 and a 70/30 (all heavier on OWA). My favorite by a smidge was the 70/30, and my 60/40 came in 2nd, with 65/35 pulling up the rear. These were micro-mingles (under 20 mL to make the math easier) besides my 60/40 which gets topped off periodically when I have both components opened. May make a 2 oz sample bottle of the 70/30 and try that in another week or two, just to see what happens. Sorta rooting for that to come out on top since OWA seems easier to come by, and prior experiments of subbing W12 with Larceny or WSR fell flat.

Celebrating the end of another cold with a pour of EWSB now that my sense of taste works again.

Started tonight off with my Bowman blend, equal parts 12yr Port Finished LE and Bowman Single Barrel. Really delicious, and has a second benefit of stretching out my stocks of the Bowman LE.

Now moving on to some WFE 4yr Rye. Terrific also, and I am still kicking myself for not buying more when I could. It seems to have disappeared.

4 meetings today, the first of which started at 6:30 am. I'm beat. Therefore it's a Stagg kind of night.

Started the night with a blend I saw on bourbontruth twitter - 60% Bernheim and 40% WT Rare Breed.

Now onto some 4RSiB OBSV.

Was that blend as good as he claimed?

Had a couple of smaller pours of TPS Buffalo Trace that was really tasty. Opened a bottle of Noah's Mill that I got for Christmas. Damn, what a let down. Tasted young, hot and with no real barrel flavors.

The first glass was great. Had a few yesterday and a big one tonight. It started to get a little too sweet. The FR i followed it up with tonight sure did taste great. I think a 50/50 blend or maybe even a 60/40 blend the other way might be the way to go. I'm sure I'll find out in the next few days.

Did a wheater sampling at one of my local stores - WSR, OWA, & W12. We then followed this up with ORVW 10 and PVW 15. The Pappy was the clear winner. What an incredible nose on the 15. Only rivaled by the OFBB '13 I'm currently drinking at the moment!

OFBB '12. Like the nose on the '13 by a mile but the taste and finish on the '12 are a bit better. Perhaps a vatting is in order?

FR smb LE 2011. Only a couple pours left. Totally serviceable and tasty, but won't miss it too much when it's gone.

WAINWRIGHT suggested this vatting to me a couple of months ago. It is pretty good at a 1:1 ratio. The best elements of both vintages come together quite nicely!

Booker's. First time I havent thoroughly enjoyed this pour, maybe just not in the mood for it tonight. I always love the taste and mouthfeel, and the bite, but the aftertaste fades too quickly.

Ending a long night at work with Binny's selected OBSV 10yr 10months. Probably my favorite of the 2013' picks. The OBSF and OESK were solid too.

Some BT & some BT Bourbon Cream in my coffee this cold snowy morning. It's good for what ails you.
