A blind SBS with EWSB 2003 and EWSB 2004. I found the 2003 to be a bit more tannic, and thin with some licorice on the finish, while the 2004 was sweeter and had a more viscous mouthfeel. Both were good, but I give a slight nudge to the 2004.

Made a new batch of ECBP:EC12 (1:1) vatting. Sipping on a good size pour of this new batch now. Man, I think this has to be way up there on my list of top few. It is just amazingly good!

I love ETL as do many others here. I get a vanilla ice cream/cream soda drizzled with caramel flavor with some spice on the finish. Admittedly, I haven't had a pour of it in quite a while though. I've been too busy going through samples and new acquisitions to spend much time with what I've dubbed "Old Faithful."

I very much get the same kind of notes that joe does with ETL. I also think of it as a faithful pour that is easily my goto.

On occasion, I've had a lackluster pour if I ate spicy food before or had a lot of barrel proofs in the days before, but the next time out always reverts to the old faithful.

I would say that while it's not as complex as others, it's damn tasty at what is does well.

Still working on that bottle of Jefferson's Reserve. Maybe two pours left and I can move on.

Followed up that pour with bookers. It's a good pour but the flavors were a little muted following a pour of the ECBP:EC12 vatting.

Going back to a pour of that vatting to end the night:) so tasty!

The wife couldn't join me for my lunch break today, so I went solo. Went to the local downtown place with the Burger, Fries, and Bourbon for $10. That has got to be the best deal in town!

Never had any Old Fitz 100 before, so I tried that. I always passed it over in the store because the label looks so cheap I had low expectations of it, but I actually liked it quite well.

Dish on Market? I wanted to go there on my last trip to Louisville but didn't have enough time. What bourbon options do they offer with the bourbon and burger special?

Larceny and now this, sounds like that waving wheat is smelling sweet Doug.

I have enjoyed me some wheaters lately, AND tend to find myself at the 100 proof line mostly, in general. It wasn't a conscious choice, Ive just been trying new things (to me) when I go out. This month it was MM46 first, then Bernheim, Weller 12, RR10, Fitz 100, and that bottle of Larceny the other day. I was about to walk out of the store empty handed, as I was really just looking to get an Old Scout to partake in the BOTM topic.......but at $20 for a 1.75 after the rebate, I couldn't help it. Plus, it'd been about a year since Id had it and I wanted to see how it compared to the MM46, since I liked that, and since they're both aimed at the same target market.

guess I have to take back my stated dislike for wheaters.......It wasnt my thing at first, as I really loved the 120 proofers. Now I tend to stay around 100 proof and seem to prefer lower rye stuff.

Squire finally tipped 10,ooo posts......

thats the one!

they have a pretty impressive bourbon and whiskey selection, from Ky tavern to Pappy.......but the lunch burger and bourbon special only includes any bourbon $6 and under on the menu (think: bottles that are $25 and under), which is probably a choice of at least 30 bourbons. Hand made thick burger, fries and a bourbon, for $10?! hells yeah!

Some crazy fine ECBP batch one. So glad to have found one of these in the wild recently. It's just full flavored, rich, outstanding stuff.

side by sides of Larceny and HH6BIB. The HH family resemblance is strong, but the HH6 is a bit richer/fuller in profile than the Larceny. Still, at $20 with rebate for a 1.75 of Larceny, I may grab another.

Out back with a D75- B82 OGDBIB, and getting ready for a none-to-soon Friday to come.

Got a sample of 2013 PVW15 today. It would be a really nice $75 bottle. This year's ORVW10 at ~$50 blows it away IMHO.

BTEC Extended Drying Time. Definitely seeing the Mashbill #1 family resemblance. Nice wood spice (not too much oak, thankfully), not too sweet. The only oddity is some bubble gum in the nose, but I'm not sure if that'll stick around as the bottle opens up.

Edit: The bubble gum is already fading into a nice tropical fruit note. Good stuff.

Or two, or three, years from now you will be posting, "I remember when Larceny had a rebate".

Polished off a sample of WTKS from 2001 with the pewter top thanks to a fellow board member. After tasting the WTAS, WT12 Gold foil, and this WTKS...I am becoming a WT convert.
