smokinjoe
I don't think the age difference is that great Joe, particularly with the 114, but diluting the BIB and 114 to 80 would make for an interesting tasting session with Hayden.
squire
I was thinking more like 6 for the BIB based on continuing taste profile, and something like 6-8 for the 114 which I expect where Hayden is hovering as well.
smokinjoe
Without a statement, it is indeed speculation. My guess is if they lowered the age of the BH, they will have done the same to the others. Possibly not coincidentally, there has been some talk of the 114 profile changing. Not to mention barrel selection of the BH super premium as compared to general OGD iterations. To point, upping proof of the BH is more than simply saying "...then it would be like, Hmm, Old Grand Dad." IMO, there's more to it than that. But, enough getting off track for me...Loved on some MM46 last evening.
GaryT
Reached pass all my FRSB private picks for a plain ol' retail FRSB. While I love the private picks and the variety they offer, sometimes its nice to just reflect on how wonderful their "ordinary" FRSB offering is :yum:

Red One
Dickel 9 yr to start off. I like this one but it is definitely unusual to a regular bourbon drinker. Also - on my work trip last week, finally got to have a couple of pours of ORVW 10 yr. and Lot B. Both were very good. The bar also had the PVW 20 yr. and wanted $57 for a pour! My boss was buying so I could NOT justify that, especially since he was just having a Manhattan with Makers Mark. Crowes
Started off with a pour of Noah's Mill, now on to some Jefferson's Reserve (standard offering). I've been hesitant to spend the money on this bottle, but curiosity got the best of me. I'm glad I did. While not spectacular, I think it's quite good, subtle and reserved, but that's what I appreciate about it.
ItsJackNow
Treating myself to a generous pour of FR 125th SmB. Excellent choice for my first post if I may say so myself.
garbanzobean
BTEC Extended Stave Drying Time. This one definitely opens up with some air exposure. It's starting to develop more similarities to EH Taylor Single Barrel, but fruitier and a bit less oak-heavy, believe it or not. I am starting to see why bourbon that is intended for long aging would benefit from more seasoned staves.
dreasoner
OFBB12, looks like I will be stopping on the way home to bunker another. Not as good as the 13 but there not making any more. At least that's what I tell myself... Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Paddy
Drinking Stagg Jr. I really like this stuff (especially after I get my mouth good and numbed up).

I mean, part of me thinks that you would put your best stuff in minis, but I suspect it was pretty much what you'd get in the bigger bottle. Actually preferred to the store selection I had open at home at the time.

Gonna try to polish off this bottle, as long as the ice holds out. I will have to check out Black Sails. Hadn't even heard of it until you mentioned it, but it looks solid! I don't know what it was about that bottle but damn it was a good, the WT8 I took to Kentucky wasn't nearly that good.........you need to milk that bottle. It only took a few minutes to get the cork out last night and now I've got my wife's pink wine-stopper as a fill-in. Something doesn't feel right about it, though! Bottle will be nursed, but plenty more to share.

flahute
Nice fatty pour 2013 OFBB. :yum:Good choice! I'm enjoying a very thin pour of the same.......thin because it was the last of it. I am now in mourning.
DrBob
A pour of ETL. This is a very smooth bourbon, I find it to be a bit too smooth, and it drinks a bit too easy, to be an every day pour. I just drink it too fast. If it was beer I would call it sessionable.
squire
Bob I just call it good, ETL is on it's way to becoming a classic.
flahute
And along those lines, I followed up my thin pour of OFBB with a pour of ETL. Killed that bottle too, but luckily I have a backup. This was one of my early purchases and the first bourbon that really blew my doors off. After all the experimentation since then, I still really like this one a lot whereas other early purchases will not be repurchased. If I could find more, I would certainly buy it.
